I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you just won't find a tablet for that amount of money that will have the power to run the app.

agree, I bought a Samsung Tab A 7in for $100 and it had such bad lag it was unflyable. switched to a Tab S2 8in and works perfectly

shame too cause the Tab A fit very nicely

Before buying a tablet, make sure that at least a few other people have made it work succesfully. I tried running the app with a couple 100$ phones I had laying around but none of them worked. I now use the Nexus 7 second generation and it works perfectly well.

I got a iPad Air 2 64 gig on Craigslist for 150. Works great. Make sure to get the cellular not WiFi only as they have a gps chip

My Lenovo Tab3 8Plus works fine. 3Gb ram, octo processor, GPS, WiFi and 3G/4G.
Just squeezes snugly into the controller arms. Less than $200 US.

I got my one from Gearbest - they are slow to ship though.

Google Nexus 7 2013 (not the 2012 version) - just fits https://www.flickr.com/photos/16 ... /dateposted-public/
its one of the DJI supported tablets for Go4 - see: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=121571
going for $100 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Go ... :g:4BoAAOSwEUdaUDRb

Also Amazon has the the Nexus 7 2013 version refurbished in the $100.00 range if you use Amazon. They have great CS if there is any issue.

Yep, same here. It doesn't fit completely into the remote but it runs smoothly and has one hell of a big screen

There is a cheaper version of the Lenovo Tab3 8 available without the cellphone option. It has WiFi only and people tell me that it's a lot cheaper (might fit your budget). I never had one but maybe worth checking out.

For dji: Grab one of these phablets and test it as it should make your approved android devices list easily.

It fits for me https://www.flickr.com/photos/16828840@N07/38768291611/in/dateposted-public/

Thats pushed up right to the bottom edge of the RC - completly fitting the arms.

You're not scared of breaking the arms of the RC if you push it too hard?

And is that tiny USB cable connected to the side of the remote?

I'm still using the Tablet below (from a previos post of mine). Still good and I'm runnnig  the latest firmware.

I just thought I would share with the community that I've had a very positive experience with the Acer Iconia One 7 tablet.

I've been using it with the Mavic now for 3 weeks and haven't exerienced any crashes (app or drone!) DJI GO 4 running nicely. 16GB version for less than £90 from argos.

Minimal video lag and two finger dragging for selecting subjects works a treat; my fingers are massive!

It is held nice and snugly in the controller without any mods or adaptors too.

In fact my only critisism is that the display isn't the brightest, though it is workable in bright sunlight.

Fully recommended for a cheapo tablet to get me started. Well done Acer!

The only feature that doesn’t work is follow me, because it’s WiFi. Everything else works flawless.

it does. Been using my mini for 2yrs, with my P3A and Mavic and not had any issues. Follow me doesn't work well because it's wifi only.

Thank you. I think I will buy the cell version of the Mini refurnished and take the sim card from my wireless puck and put in the Mini when I fly.  That should add GPS to the Mini.
Thanks again

And is that tiny USB cable connected to the side of the remote?

Open the arms up as wide as they will go with the grips in the position shown - hold the grips (alternate each side) - then push the tablet a little each side at a time into the grip rather than pushing against the RC and arms. The thickness of the nexus (8.7mm) is marginally (0.2mm) more than the Mavic RC spec says (6.5-8.5mm)  I'll put some close up photos together.

The photo was taken for another forum point - the USB lead plugged into the RC allows it to be be powered while the tablet is bing powered from the RC. Not that I totally recommend that.  See:

Thanks for the help but I know how to use the USB on the side. I was just asking you if it was long enough for the Nexus 7 considering that it is bigger than your normal phone.

No the standard USB lead isn't long enough to extend from the side of the RC to the side of the nexus. The nexus in the picture is actually plugged into the central USB socket under the RC.

Thank you very much!. I will look at it

I bought a 'used' Nexus 7 (2nd generation) on eBay for $90.  It was basically new (still on Android 4.4.4).  I deleted or disabled every app I could and only have DJI Go 4 on it.

So far, it works fine.  Setup as in the images in the link above.
