Heading over to Miami from the UK in March and with the current exchange rate the Mavic Air is almost 50% cheaper in the States than the U.K. Can anyone foresee any problems in terms of warranty etc? I appreciate the charger plug will be different but I can put up with that for a £300 saving!

Yes there is only a regional warrantee - e.g. see https://forum.dji.com/thread-131054-1-1.html

So basically, if there was a warranty issue I'd have to send it back to The States rather than Holland.

Yes that is correct. Your $300 savings could end up costing you more along with headaches if needing repairs. Since you would need a physical address to send it from in the states/ and back to in the states. Then get it sent back to you in your country.

So if I was an American living in the U.K. with my drone and I had a problem, dji would insist I sent to the States. Couldn’t I send to China?

In addition to Duty (which is usually only a few percent) you may have to pay 20% VAT on the entire value - see https://www.gov.uk/duty-free-goods/arrivals-from-outside-the-eu.

I wondered if one of the DJI folk would like to explain why the Mavic Air is almost 50% cheaper in the US than the UK - since its manufactured in China.  Are the tariffs really that different - is the cost of support  in Europe really that much more.

There is clearly something odd..??
Say for example it was 5000 YUAN in China
Current exchange rates give:
@ $791
@ £559

Checking $791 in GBP is £558 so almost the same
So it looks like the UK is really marked up by somebody.?

Are you sure it's exact like for like you have seen in US.?

It’s definately the same drones. Large multi national companies often rip Brits off by charging almost the same amount of dollars as pounds despite the current exchange rate being 1.40. It’s only recently the exchange rate has got better and is worth considering. Looking forward to hearing DJI response regarding the warranty

Can someone from DJI confirm the warranty issue please. I have read that if I take out Refresh the warranty is effectively worldwide
