Should be an option to shoot 4k in a lower bitrate. I would say 50-60MB is good enougth for me.

Agreed. I’m filing up a 64GB like crazy! Great drone though!

Not sure if they implemented that. But I would not advice you to.
4K bitstream has a lot of artifacts at 60MB in certain situations.
Not sure how the Air manages in those area's where there are a lot of shades of one color, but it should outperform the Pro.

24Mb/s on the spark (1080p) is quite good ;-)

Yes indeed, but that is 4x less resolution, so 96Mb/s is just right.

So i thought it would be simple just to get an SD card.. but things are getting frustrating.   In the quick manual. It clearly states i quote " microSD. Class 10 or UHS-1 rating required ".

But then i see your Supported SD cards.  And when i take a look at the 128GB Sandisk Extreme PRO V30 A1.  It clearly states that it is an UHS-3 Rating microsd card.

So if that`s the Case is the manual giving the minimum UHS- factor.?  Or is it really required ?

Please i don`t want to waste any money before buying.   I would like to get the Best SD card possible for my drone.

Yesy UHS-1 is the minimum, UHS-3 is my preference ScanDisk Extreme 32GB

Question:

The Recommended Sandisk Cards all have a WRITE-speed of under 100mbit/s. ("only" 90mbit/s to be exact). How do I match this with a claimed 100mbit/s of the air it self?

The way I see it, the optimal recording quality according specs is not feasible because of the recommended memory card being the limited factor.
Or am I missing something?

E.g., why not recommend the Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-II U3 which supports 100mbit/s write speed?

Ty sir,

I was looking at the "LEXAR Professional MicroSDXC UHS-II 128GB 1800x"
The speed might be a bit overkill but it will help large file transfers from the SD to my PC.

Ty sir,

I was looking at the "LEXAR Professional MicroSDXC UHS-II 128GB 1800x"

I would stick to a smaller card, it is easy enough to swap out the card everytime you change the battery between flights, by doing this you prevent loss of photos/videos from previous flights should something happen during one of your flights. This is why I use the 32GB (more than enough space for 20 minutes of flight in 4K)

I have tried a few cards from Lear, Sandisk & Team Xtreem, all are class 10. Any UHS-1 cards give a yellow warning ⚠️

The UHS-3 ones do not, so I think it’s UHS-3’s for the Air.
The SanDisk in the recommended list are all Class 10 UHS-3

My question is,

does the Mavic air have a UHS-2 micro sd card interface?

I can not find out if the drone also supports UHS-2 cards.

I would like to buy: SANDISK 128GB MICROSDXC EXTREME PRO UHS-II U3 275MB / S

Does anyone know anything about this?

This is where you`re experience kicks in which i have not.
So i listened to your advice and bought 2x 64gb Samsung Microsdxc EVO UHS-1 its class 10.
There very cheap and have 100 read 90mb write .
So i can buy a couple more of needed.. For now it should do.

Hi!

Could someone confirm that Mavic Air supports >32GB memory cards?

Supported File System        FAT32

Mavic Pro also supports exFAT, but there is only no information about that on Air.

I know that they recommend up to 128GB memory cards, but is there any use for them?

Same thing for me. Surprised to see other folks with the same issue. I have a slow SD card message but I have a UHS-1 card, which should work fine. I have not verified whether the 4K video lags on playback. But this is annoying issue on it's own. I would expect DJI to note something about UHS-1 SD cards not supporting 4K, or do not show this annoying message. Of course, I could buy a UHS-3, which is "recommended", but I thought that "supported" means that it works.

Yeah, but the point is that money were spent in vain.
Of course I will find where to put that UHS-1 card in future, but that was not what I wanted at the time of buying that card.

You mix up different thinks by writing not case sensitive!
U3 is 90 MB/sec. B = Byte and one Byte have 8 bit

Had a 32 GB UHS3 - A1 card - did fine
Bought a 64 GB UHS3 - A2 card - video is not fine anymore - sadly the first flight with this card was a paid job with 2.1k 60 FPS recording :-(  ...   didn't think the A1 vs. A2 would change a thing but the write speed is 60 bit istead of 90 bit on the A1 card
