Have you tried using DJI Assistant 2 on the PC to upgrade/refresh the AC firmware first, this may help the controller upgrade

It looks like that the firmware update is not successful. Please refer below and try to reset the RC: Turn off the RC, hold the C1, C2 and Record button at the same time, then turn on the RC, and connect it with APP to update from overall status. Make sure the update is successful, and link RC later.

BTW, the standard P4P RC does not support to upgrade via DJI Assistant 2, so it is normal to get the message.

Try (Aircraft must be off):
Press C1, C2 and Shutter (is in the right side next to the antena) button of the controller and then turn off the controller.
Don't release any button. IMPORTANT
Turn on the controller.
Release all buttons.
Then purple light must become a red light.
Then turn on aircraft.

Have you tried re linking the drone to your controller? Simple enough if that is the problem. Turn on both the drone and controller then push the two button under the controller and the record button at the same time until the red light turns blue and starts to bleep. Then go to the drone and with a pen or tooth pick depress the small red light between the SD card slot and computer link plugd it will start flashing and then link. Hope it helps
