I'm sorry to tell you that Mavic Air does not support Course Lock at this moment. We'll release on our website if more features are available.

Maybe you can use tapfly as an alternative. During taplfly u can rotate the drone while it keeps flying in the same direction.

Course lock and Home lock are old day feature, 3-4 years ago probably. Since Mavic Pro they are replaced by Active track where you can circle around a subject.

They have to have some separation between the Air and the Pro right.

the separation is size, range, battery.. no need for crippled flight modes

The ‘traditional’ intelligent flight modes (home lock, course lock, follow me and waypoints) are still on the Mavic Pro but not the Air. The pro also has active track, tap fly etc - course lock is a great flight mode.

Second that - Phantom 3s had course lock. As I'm going to be getting one the next month I'll add my vote to BRING IT BACK (as well as POI and the rest).

You can do the same in Tapfly free mode with Mavic Air , most dji drones were released without course lock, it usually came with firmware updates, until then see how easy it works using method above.

I still not sure, but a coordinates tapandfly may be more safe - more direct point to stop. I have to do some tests when weather here get a little better.
In this scenario, when T&F is active, but we fly sideways to simulate courselock (and film some object passing it) , how stop-point is executed? or it will just fly into trees, as camera is facing away from flypath?
