Maybe he does have a lot of money, and has every dji drone on the market.   He thinks it’s worth the risk.   I for one like seeing people tinker and push the limits.   It would be boring if no-one ever tried anything different.      We all benefit from their successes and failures.

Look at all the aftermarket stuff there is on the market based on people tinkering.   Legs, LED lights, ND filters, range extenders...etc.  Granted the battery mod is on the extreme side, but same principle

I would still go with the SPARK as it has the front obstacle sensor in place .  Just think of the serial   Blue Thunder helicopter.

I love tinkering and found the video very interesting but at 70 years + , with arthritic hands and failing eyesight I will give it a miss.

Truly absurd. Apart from highly likely static damage while it was butchered, it will overstress the motors, ruin the balance and looks awful, with no increase in flight times me.

You can actually do this without opening the drone. I used knock off batteries and removed the cells and etc.. I get 35 minutes on my spark batteries currently. (After software parameters updated and hardware mods props/batteries).

Also pretty critical don't you think?  To each there own!! Mod-on!
