I'm trying to test the option out but its grey out in the box. I did the hard wired and also wireless with mobile but it seems that the only option i can't get to activate... is there some type of trick I need to do to get it to do smart capture option.

Check if the dji go app is logged in. Try logging out and back in.

I try logging and out, still doesn’t work

That is strange indeed. Have just checked on mine and it is not greyed.

anyone having this issue? Every option works beside Smart Capture...as if the machine is not able to do it.

NOTE: to those who came here via a Google search, the Mavic Air as of Feb 3 2018 is shipping with SmartCapture deactivated.

The DJI GO 4 app didn't offer the update.
You must use DJI Assistant 2 (desktop software) to perform a firmware update.
I hate the DJI desktop software with all the obscure and spammy drivers installs but had no choice.

I did the lastest Firmware update but this function still doesn´t work. Also another functions are missing too, like the asteroid.

Silly question, but you're not in sports mode, are you?  I haven't tried but I would think smart capture would be disabled if you are in sports mode!
