The P3S I have I got used. I never did a firmware update on it since I got it. The DJI Go app says the aircraft version is 1.2.40+  I have had no issues with this version.

I have an opportunity to pick up a brand new P3S cheap. With all of these reports of firmware issues, I wanted to have the new one on the same version. However, when I go to the DJI download area, the only version I see listed is 1.09.02  What am I missing?

How about copying the fw from the SD card on your first drone?  Or have you deleated or formated that card already?

It had no SD card when I got it, so no joy there. I'm curious as to why the only version listed in the download area is 1.09.02 Am I reading the versions wrong? Is 1.2.40 not newer than 1.09.02? What is the actual newest  firmware?

1.09.0200 is the latest firmware

So 1.2.40 is older despite appearing to have a higher number? Is there a list of all of the versions somewhere?

EDIT: I found the list of the FW versions. I assume that the 1.2.40 I see in the app is actually 1.02.4 Does that sound right?

I believe that is correct.

Hi Mark, the P3S does not support to downgrade. You can find the release note here:

May I know have you tested the performance? I'd like to see whether I can help.

Thanks. But that was not my question. My questions had more to do with why the app shows a different version than the actual firmware name (i.e. 1.2.40 vice 1.02.4). This can be confusing because it makes it look like 1.2.40 (as shown in the app) is higher than 1.09. 02 (as shown on the DJI download page).

Versions are the same. Have no idea why the different numbers. I and others have wondered as well over time. I your happy with the way the ac flies, dont worry about updating the firmware.

Yes. I have done a lot of reading about the different FW versions. The one I have now is on 1.2.40+ and it flies great. I have no intention of updating it (or the app). What I wanted to do was get the new one (I have not bought it yet) on the same version and keep it there. But before I could do that, I needed to figure out these version numbers, as they had me confused.

Could you post a screenshot of the version number you can see? I'll double check and forward to the designated team to review.

Do you mean the SD where the photos and videos are stored, mounted on the body of the camera ? Is there the FW of the Drone or is there another card that I do not see? Can you enlarge? Thank you!!

I believe the question has already been answered that the app truncates the firmware version number. In any case the second one I got already had 1.2.40+ that my first one has, and I am NOT going update it when it works perfectly as is. Especially after reading all of the horror stories with newer versions.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification. Wish you have a good time.
