Hi all,

I would like to know the best way to log GPS coordinates (preferably to OS grid) from my drone as I fly it or when I leave it stationary on the ground. I am new to drone flying and I am using it as part of a science project. (phantom 3)

Does anyone know how fast the refresh rate is on the gps receiver? How quickly is the GPS location updated?

Is there any way to find the coordinates from the DJI Go app?

Thank you very much for your help! Much appreciated!

You can actually have the video recorded with an SRT overlay ... so when you play back the raw video from your Phantom - you get GPS and other info displayed on screen.

You could of course use a screen recorder for your tablet ... I use DU Recorder for Andoid ... make sure data display is on and you select what data you want displayed ... but this is a low resolution version.

Your flight log will also record GPS and other data ...

Your GPS is recording a location every 1/10th of a second.
You can get a report that includes all GPS locations by:
Going to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Follow the instructions there to upload your flight record from your phone or tablet.
Click on the Download CSV  & Download KML options to get more GPS info

1.  Not sure what you mean by "best way to log."  I guess you'd have to write the coordinates down "as you fly."

2.  The logs that I've seen indicate a GPS refresh of at least every three-tenths of a second.  But that's only what the log I've seen shows.  It could actually be faster than that.

3.  Coordinates from the Go app - Not that I know of but I haven't really looked, haha.  But I know you can get them from the Litchi flight app as you fly.  They will appear at the bottom of the screen if you choose that option.

not on the fly but you can also  read the kml into google Earth and read coords from there.
Don't forget you can load to Airdata as well.
