Hi all,

Simple question here, I'm looking to get either a backpack or hardcase for my mavic pro.
I have the fly more combo and have a few extra things, like the controller hood and some PGYTech accessories.
I'm finding the DJI Bag a little too tight to fit everything and not as easy to get things in and out on the run.

I'm currently looking at the Lowepro DroneGuard BP200 or BP250.
In regards to hard cases, I'd love to get a pelican case but not sure if they still make custom foam anymore.
Although a Nanuk or something equivalent might do.

Can anyone suggest a good backpack or hard case they have used?
Cheers!

I use all 3 of them, depending of the need. Hard shell backpack for hiking or mountenbiking , hard case when with the car (offroad) and flymore bag when maximum compactness is needed, airplaine or family holidays with space restictions.

I was already using a backpack for my mirrorless camera and lenses, so I just put the Mavic and the controller in small hard-ish cases to make sure they're protected and add them to the bag. I made a video about that (and other accessories). Second 53:

I bought this really cheap case/backpack which isn't too bad : - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water ... 2057872.m2749.l2649

Sure it's not going to be as tough as a pelican Case and I wouldn't sit on it but it does the job for just everyday use. I do, however, have a set of individual cases being delivered for travelling so I can put the mavic in my camera bag.

I have the same one and I agree it is good for it's price.

I'm a sucker for Pelican cases with custom foam inserts - if you can get CAD files,of the Mavic there are numerous companies who will laser cut the foam insert, not as ergonomic as a backpack, but totally indestructible! Make sure you let us all know how you eventually get on.

For my Smart I have a hard case like the Pelican, because it also suits very well as take off/landing platform. For the MA I'll probably go for the same.

I just bought a Lowepro Protactic 250 AW but its WAY too small. I'll return it and just get a PEak Design everyday backpage..Its like 400$ with taxes here in Quebec...But will be good for everyday use too. I'll just have to build shelves to accomadate all my gadgets hehe..

I use various cases depending on what I am doing, general storage is in a hard shell case. If I am walking any distance I use the DJI case.

I prefer to retain portability whilst keeping luggage weight down whilst travelling . It really depends on the risks the journey or activities presents to your equipment.

I feel like a backpack is a little more convenient. Although a hard case is more protective.

For a daily fly I transport my Mavic in a old Lowepro Lens Case #3 ( https://www.amazon.com/Lowepro-Lens-Case-3-Black/dp/B00009R89G ) Perfect fit, excellent protection. I put this tube into a protective backpack with all accesories and other stuff. The advantage of this is that you can use any backpack, the backpack that you like more. When I have a bigger trip I put  the Lowepro Lens Case and all the other stuff, and also my camera on my Dakine Photo backpack: https://www.dakine.com/en-us/bag ... uence-33l-backpack/

I have used this bag over the past year.  Holds everything you need on the road and is not too big to throw under the airline seat of small commuter flights

I use the Fly More Combo bag and put it into my backpack (not necessarily professional camera backpack), find this really convenient and compact to carry (without being noticed)

The backpack is the most practical option for me as i tend to do several long filghts so i need to carry at least 4 batteries.

I bought Fly More set and for the first few days I was using the original DJI bag, but shortly after the purchase I switched to Manfrotto Aviator 25 backpack for Mavic Pro and Osmo. It was my first Manfrotto backpack (my main outdoor photography backpack is F-Stop Gear) and I must say I was positively surprised by the quality and design, especially clever way to transport Mavic Pro with two additional batteries thanks to insulated pouch. The only thing missing is a pocket inside for i.e. PolarPro filters for both drone and gimbal, but this could be solved by keeping the filter cases in the pocket on the top of the backpack.
Even fully packed, the backpack was comfortable to wear and use during 5hrs long hike in the snow-covered woods (at -5 Celsius degrees).

This is a B&W Case 5000 with a Spark and Mavic inserts from the Case 300 turned by 90 degrees. New they do not fit both, you have to cut them a little bit :-) 6.5 kg.

I went by Harbor Freight, tool store for those that don't know, and looked around the store.  I found a hard case with the foam inside and on the top.  The foam is cut so you just stick your finger in and pull util you get the shape you want.  Mine holds my Mavic Pro, 4 batts, controller, charger, extra blades, and still has room.  It was only $30.00 and has 2 holes in the corners when closed for locks.  it looks just like some of the more expensive ones I see online.  Hope this helps some of you.

Hi all,

I ended up getting a PGYTECH Mavic Pro safety carrying case.
The price was too good to leave at $89 AUD.
I had my eye on a Pelican case but found no local supplier here in Australia.
Then looked into a Nanuk 920MAV from B&H, which goes for $119 USD but after adding the conversion
and shipping it’s about $198AUD.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Here is the link to the PGYTECH. The special price ends soon and picked it up from D1store shop.
