Dear all,
having the last FW allowing installation of 3rd party apps, as it couldn't be of a different way at your own risk, I found useful to create a list of resources and already installed 3rd party apps which have proven to work well on the GL300E.

Please let's make it simple, let's refrain from posting anything else which may not be strictly related to the purpose of this thread, no sterile combats, no smart gurus, only "want to help" and "want to learn" fellows welcomed

• It seems Google family of apps not allowed as interferring with the device's Android system
• I used to download the apps via Browser. Used first https://m.apkpure.com. As it went smoothly, for the moment, I stick to this one.
• First app: WINDY. Goes fine.
  

Working:

• Avia Weather
• Notams
• PilotWeather
  

Not working:

• AirMap - needs Google Play services
• Avia Maps Aeronautical charts

But free program using Google services will work ,You just install Google service via that website.

Sorry but I can't help with an answer as not tried these apps yet

Unfortunately it seems that no 3rd party flight apps work at all. Its only useful for apps that have nothing to do with flying a drone. In nutshell the P4P plus is minus any flight apps other than dji go 4.

You gave up updating the list?

I think #1 can be edited for a updated list so there should be no need to read the entire thread.
It would be nice if people posting apps added the link to app and/or the homepage for the product.

What i would like to ask is what screen recorder people has found to work without ruining the performance.

LITCHI doesn't work without googel services. I bought it for my Samsung GalaxyTAB2 9.7. It has a Chinese version of Android.  No work.

Lately I did not had too much time to try new apps. And somehow the sad feeling this FW update to allow 3rd party apps was a solomonic solution DJI found to silent its lousy claimers. I understand their point that uncontrolled 3rd party apps can ruin system's functionality but I think is more about the very limited HW in therms of memory NAND/ROM and storage space available for the FW as well as for the native apps controlling the flight. Is here we may experience problems in the future and why I'd refrain from future updates (space and memory consuming), once the user had found one working well enough.
I know Labroides will post a reply to my post here, and teach us again the same old gramophone song about the brighter screen and research he was unable to prove where to be done, a scratched old song we already know...
Still do not understand where the "danger" of Google Play Services comes from and for this particular RC+, but I'm not a computer specialist and perhaps one day we'll find one to explain this to us and being able to figure out what to expect and what don't in the future.
I agree a unique (edited) list with "knowing to work" 3rd party apps would be much more useful than a loooong topic with individual posts, wonder why this would not be kept and done by DJI or some DJI's moderators. Afterall is in DJI's own interest to show potential buyers as many as possible uses and apps available for their top ranged product.

Just did the upgrade myself yesterday so i have to test out a few things, there seem to be a solution to the google play problem. my big problem to test it fully is that i have no Google account and can't  even install free apps without being prompted to login ...

I didn't gave up, just took a small break because of not having enough time these days. As a P4P+ owner, my suggestions and "battles" to get bugs fixed, improved, failsafe functionality and all the rest, will never cease...At least as long I maintain the ownership.
Should no DJI's admin show interest in keeping this 3rd party apps list, and I assume they won't, as to avoid being stained...in such or any possible case, I'll keep updated this topic. I'd suggest either reposting periodically a consolidated list or, should any forum user send me a PM, I'll post his/her findings and suggestions.

My P4P+ does everything I bought it for.

I was able to download Google Maps but it doesn't do anything. Won't show my location or anything. I still can't find anything about how to install these 20+ apps DJI is talking about. Do they expect us to download via apkpure and just guess which ones work? It's a little confusing.

Seems we'll have to wait or hope for more flexibility in the future and allowing a more intercommunicability between the micro SD and internal storage accessed by installed apps

Great! But one problem is that my P4P+ ROM is very limited one and it's hindering my ability to get this done successfully. Thanks anyway.

Unfortunately this is something I've been claimed for many years in all my previous posts...the abnormally reduced ROM memory of the built-in tablet/screen...No chance for improvement and still do not understand why DJI does not allow to use extra memory for storage, etc. through an external micro SD. The port exists, it is only a matter of FW/HW update.
