The answer is likely to be their newest and most powerful iPad :-)

But as a guide I use an iPhone 6s Plus ('cell/GPS' required if I wanted to set 'home point' to controller position, or use 'follow me'). Most of the time I use my wifi only iPad pro 9.7, which just fits the standard controller device mount.

I have not had any issues at all with either, running latest DJI Go 4.

I was using my iPad Pro at first but didn’t care foe the extra weight, now I’ve switched to the iPad 4 mini and wouldn’t go back to the pro. To each his own...

I don't mind a larger screen real state. Using an iPad Air2 64gb Cellular as my dedicated device. It's been stellar.

Mind you, I'm still flying a Phantom 3 Pro'.

I upgraded to a 2017 iPad 9.7 from an iPad 2 mini. I was having constant video transmission dropouts with the mini. It's been flawless with the new 2017 iPad.

I use an iPad Mini 4 and have never had any issues with it.

The iPad Pro 10.5 has the A10X, which is right around 33% faster single core and 50% faster multicore compared to the 9.7's A9X, so that's what I would get.
