I bought a DJI OSMO mobile 2 recently.When I use the active tracking to select the object,it is not able to sense or track the object and goes out of control.I am then getting a pop up that “subject lost....searching” .I use Iphone 7 plus

I'm not having any ActiveTracking issues.

My device: iPhone 6s
Firmware: 2.1.0.20

Are you newer or older? This is what we have in the Dutch store.

Same problem for me, I can select the subject but after the gimbal turn and goes out of control ...

I am having the same issue with my iPhone X, the gimbal just goes crazy. That's frustrating. =/

Hi guys! I just found out what's happening. Your phone orientation (portrait, landscape) should be UNLOCKED. Now it works just fine.

Mine doesn't work in hyper lapse mode.  iPhone 7plus.  I have tried it before and after pressing record and it displays an error code.

Once I select an object, even at perfect lighting conditions, my Osmo mobile starts to move up and down even if both the Osmo and the tracking target are perfectly still. The movement continues getting stronger until it completely goes nuts and turns into another direction and loses its target

i hade the same problem with iphone X, but it works just fine woth my samsung s6, hope it will be fixed in the next update

Having the same problems.  I have taken my phone off of orientation lock and the problem persists.  Any updates?

Tracking worked for me, for following a basic object & when the OM2 was kept motionless on a tripod. In this scenario it worked well. It did not work well with a complex object, while being handheld. Sample video proof is available on my YouTube review.

I used to have that problem as well. To solve that problem you need to check your phone’s lock screen. If it is lock, you need to unlock that lock screen

Same, iphone5, locked info turned off, cant activate active track. Like in the movie above. Keeps a circle, doesnt turn into a square. Eventually if u lcik enough u hit zoom in or map for fotos , cause button is close. Last update, rebooted, any ideas?

ActiveTrack is not compatible with certain phones (i.e. iPhone 5s and iPhone 5) due to limitations within the phones. Sorry for the inconvenience.

yeah...thanks...I can solve it now...

It sort of works on my Note 4 but it's flaky it can't stay locked on to a target very long before it goes to "searching for target".

It also also drains the battery from 100 to off in about 15 minutes and the phone gets REALLY hot. I'm going to return it and revisit it again if I upgrade my phone in the future, but for now the Note 4 does everything I need it to.

I purchased today and facing same issue. Mismo mobile 2 behaves weared. Not tracking subject and starts vibrating. DJI go app app hangs regularly. I am using one plus 6T. Disappointed.

I am facing the same issue. Osmo mobile 2 is loosing object and gives message object lost and searching nad behaves weired. Not a single time it worked. I have just purchased it last week.

Same here with my iPhone 7.  Also when I connect my iPhone 7 plus to the gimbal, the bottoms don't work.

All you need to do is turn on/off your orientation lock from the phone setting and unleash the potential of your Osmo

I think that's a iPhone term. Is there an android equivalent?

Hi there, are we talking about just apple phones or and android? Im trying to find the setting in my galaxy s5. Could it possibly be that that model doesnt work ?

am using android system huawei p20 pro
and the active track mode not working before 2 weeks I try its working and auto rotation is on or off its still not working... may I know any solution

HUAWEI P20 LITE, same issue. It worked fine few days ago.

I found solution for these with "active track problem". Update from 02.10.2019. to version 3.1.58 is problem. Don't update or if you already did, uninstall the app and isntall version  3.1.52. From March 11 2019. Good luck.
