that batrery originally came with the mavic pro platium drone that i purchased from dji store.Brand new in the box came with the drone never dropped first time off the drone and i have found that crack there.

If you just purchased this then I would contact support and have them exchange this just in case there's some internal damages I'm sure it's not a issue.

do not use that battery - if it fails mid flight you will loose or damage your drone.
dji will almost certainly replace it without issues if it is within 6 months new.
if you do use it and it fails then dji will not replace your drone or your battery because from the data if they pick up any details telling that the battery was faulty then the responsibility of failure falls to the user.
send it back - should not be a problem just a bit of time delay.
do not use that battery again - serioulsy
