I know the original 5350mAh batteries work with the Pro/Adv, but do the extended capacity 5850mAh also work with the original Phantom 4? I would imagine so, but I just wanted to be sure before buying one. Thanks in advance!

Yep. No problems. I use them in the Phantom 4 standard and Advanced.

As advised, yes. But the firmware levels may be different if moving between models, as they can get out of sync with the separate releases. So if you get an "incompatible firmware" message when powering everything up, you'll need to do a craft firmware refresh (which also contains the battery firmware).
