Been away for awhile on other forums because I sold my Phantom 4 Pro+ and got an Inspire 2.
Long story shortenrd, I sold the I2 because I couldn't enjoy it.....
Not that it wasn't an awesome bird, it truly was. What got in the way was the possibility that that much money could suddenly vansh.
Bird strike, firmware failure, or other acts of nature. Just too much at risk.
So, I got a Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian. Arrived yesterday and, of course, I spent the evening activating and updating it.
This evening was very frustrating!!! It rained all day and was VERY windy. I got a new bird that needs to fly!!!
I watched the Dual Doppler, which promised a break around 9:30 pm.
Radar was right. Rain gone and wind with it.
9:45 pm liftoff of maiden flight.
It is Friggin Awesome!!!!!
Here's some pictures.....

Welcome back. Congrats on the new Phantom.

It's always nice to read complimentary posts on the drones we own.

That's too bad the Inspire2 was more risk than reward, in your mind... Pity.

Welcome back. Congrats on the new Phantom.

Actually, it was an Inspire 2 and I had about 6K wrapped up in it.
Too many eggs in one basket.
I now have a Spark, Mavic Air and Phantom 4 Obsidian which all amounts to half as much money.
Sure is a lot easier to enjoy with less at risk.
I am a very careful pilot and the only thing my props hit are bugs. But I hear all the time about those unfortunate mishaps people have.
There is a guy on ebay now selling Remote, 4 batteries, carrying case and empty camera case from his Inspire 2 because he lost it in a river and is selling what's left.
My heart goes out to him.

Yes, Inspire 2. I corrected my print.

Oh well, at least you are still flying and obviously enjoying those models.

No drone is infallible I suppose.
But you would think the more you spend on one, it should be all the more reliable.

Yes, none are perfect. Question is how much you put on the line before rolling the dice!!!
I would not feel good about crashing any of them, but easier to absorb a $1500 loss than $6000.

And, yes, I agree, the more they cost the more reliable they should be. But ............
