It was beautiful yesterday and again today. Zoom in and you can see the Shard.

The Shard at 309.7m high is the tallest building in the European Union and cost half a BILLION pounds to build! As for old and new - the Shard was built in 2012 whereas the Tower of London began construction in 1078 AD - nearly 1000 years old and is still officially used to this day, mainly to house the priceless crown jewels.

And this pic is about as close as I would dare get to the skyline LOL - London is full of NFZ's though this was taken in a safe to fly area within the M25 so still within the Greater London border. HUGE city.

I was in London once when the sun was out!
Great image, and best viewed by itself at full size. And I'd MUCH rather visit the Tower than the Shard any day!

American's tend to love British history. Whereas I loved the Empire State Building when I visited New York having grown up around Bath.

Thanks. Just a little tweak using basic 'photos' on my MacBook. It's mainly straight from the Mavic Pro Platinum camera.

Oh, I like the Empire State Bldg, too! I also loved Bath, and had one of the very best Indian meals there EVER.
And the Cotswolds.
And the Lakes.
And Penzance.
I could go on.....

Did you visit Stonehenge? Your former President Obama insisted on seeing it as part of his state visit.
There are some amazing Indian restaurants all over the country. London in particular is very cosmopolitan - which stems from the days of Empire and when London was the main city of the world and ruled India. Such a rich history here which most Brits take for granted.

Excellent Pic. I wonder if a little Lightroom dehaze would make that city view really pop out even clearer?
First nice few days in the uk for ages, getting out with my mavic this weekend too - nothing as good as this picture though!

Thanks! I'm sure with the right tools I could make it really pop but as it's just for me and one of thousands I can't be bothered LOL. I also like to test the true capability of the actual drone camera sometimes and show people what it can do out of the box. I am impressed with the MPP.

Little less haze and a bit of zoom to emphasise the sky line for you.

Not too bad for a 1/2.3" sensor and the Shard is about 12 miles away from the drone in this pic.

I can't deny that it is nice to have and I've been flying here for years without complaint but it's the only area that is close to me where I can fly safely so I too have to get in the car to expand on my flight locations but exploring new places is all part of it.

I see - we can take off here from public access points that have not banned drones or conflict with the CAA drone code. Once the drone is airborne and 165' in the air it is no longer in private property or infringes on privacy laws as >50m away from people and buildings. The restricted distance increases to 150m when the area is deemed congested (towns, stadiums etc) but fields, empty beaches etc are obviously not classified as congested areas.

Similar shots with my P4P are noticeably better but tend to use the MPP more these days as so much quieter and easier to carry.
