thats correct.  Its only'a one time mod.  I am using the downloaded version of DJI GO4 2.2.6 - the latest version without any problems.

Although I do get why people do this.
But unlike a Canon camera (with the hacks) this bird may drop out of the sky if something goes wrong.

I have 45 recorded flight.  I've done about another 25-30 flights with gesture control only.  Haven't been able to fly over the last 4-5 months due to the cold weather and high winds.  Spring is around the corner and hope to get her up in the next week or so.  Plus we are going on a family vacation to Prince Edward Island in July and Ireland in August.  Planning lots of flights during those trips.

How about you?

That's a fair amount of flights, I have 150 recorded flights with my Spark - I have ~10 with my Mavic Pro -only because live in Arizona where the weather is warm.

no it will not. You are not changing the GPS location. to switch to FCC !!

Warranty  is void only when you don''t give the information such as blackbox, flight logs or the DJI drone itself or knowingly or unknowingly  flying the drone in harsh environments.
DJI has given the programming codes for third party development . Legally , third party softwares are not illegal.

I liked it a lot....
Very very much in fact.
But I returned it after 3 flights.

That was when I read in a tech site that they were working on new regulations. Possibly ruining where I am allowed to fly.
So I did not want to take that risk and returned it to wait for these regulations to be clear.
Now it is just a game of wait and see.
Wait for the new rules.
See what they are like.

Or maybe I can't hold my breath any longer when I see a very cheap MP/MA somewhere and take the risk.
But not for the money I bought it the first time.

I totally agree with what you said.

I can easily grab the Spark from my bag and palm launch it. You can't do that with any other drones. With the Mavic Pro/Air you have to stretched out their arms and remove gimbal protector and find a spot to launch. The Spark really is an everyday drone - versatile and convenient.

People leave you alone when you are flying the Spark, it looks more like a toy than a drone.

If Spark would have 25fps, I would buy it.
My other videocamera shoots 25 or 50 fps only, so merging 30fps footage is a real pain.
I tried it with iPhone footage (stock iPhone camera app also shoots 30 / 60fps only.
That did not work.
Slowing it down made for unnatural movement.

Very impressive video.  I am going to order a remote control, looking forward to a bit more distance, but I would be too nervous to try what you did.
