The price of the Mavic Air with remote is pretty close to the price of the Spark fly more combo. The Spark is extremely limited without the remote. It makes sense that they would offer the remote if they hope to keep selling the Spark.

That's pretty much very true. Android Central released an article yesterday alerting everyone Amazon lowered the price to $769 for the Mavic Pro, which they said is the all-time lowest price ever listed for the Mavic Pro.

dji mavic pro product serious defects again: I missed the return air line machine suddenly lost connection caused by the loss of aerial camera, according to the return of electricity at that time there are 21% electricity and satellite There are 19 signals under the state, the return distance of 905 meters away from the starting point of a sudden loss of signal caused the loss of aerial camera, the return flight en route without any abnormal signal return, there is no battery signal abnormalities, the spiral Pulp also continued normal transport, the sudden return of the entire mobile phone screen telematics remote control also lost the case of lost aerial camera. In particular, this letter issued to inform your company to apply for customer complaint processing. The following DJI account number and password , Has uploaded a flight record to prove the situation at that time.Daijiang
processing group will be lost to the air machine attributed to the user factor, then the next if each air film machine caused a loss of similar conditions, are directly cut responsibility attribution , The company does not take any responsibility for the product at all. This way customer service and problem solving is worth allowing consumers to rethink the company's products, can still get the consumer Trust

Thanks for this graphic.

I'm thinking of performing a second range test without the parabolic dish extenders as I suspect the footage would considerably go down?

Here's a flight I did yesterday I just thought sod it and put the spark straight into sports mode and flew the Nuts off it. It was absolutely brilliant a full battery the video was shocking but everyone who owns a spark needs to experience doing this. Best flight I've done with my spark

Pretty straight out flight with your Spark, glad you could make it. The Spark has some real advantages and capabilities given it's such a small, and compact drone.

Flying the Spark in Sport Mode can be a real thrill, especially if you fly it straight and out.

Well, it did well beyond that, almost 12.000 feet one way on the above flight. Spark is very capable, despite its Lilliputian size. Next target is 5 kilometers one way..

I think there is another battery on the spark that did this trick of long journey !!
In any case like I always explained in the forum, it is the 5.8GHz frequency and not 2.4GHz frequency which is best for RC SPARK communication.

Do you use FCC Mode in Kuwait ?

In FCC Mode there is almost no difference between 2.4 / 5.8 Power. Also 5.8 helps as most channels are not so busy.

In CE Mode thats another Story ! In CE Mode 5.8 is almost HALF the power from FCC.

I think before you start pointing fingers, each situation is Different. Here in Europe some say that with 5.8GHz don't even get 50m ! Let alone 300m.

Here are some Fact for you to help you understand more about FCC / EC Modes -

I read that in FCC mode there isnt so much difference between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In EC mode there is a lot although the db Power Gap seems small its actually about x4 as much more in FCC.

DJI Spark range settings (taken from the DJI website):

2.412 – 2.462 GHz (unobstructed, free of interference)
   FCC: 1.2 mi (2 km); CE: 0.3 mi (500 m)

5.745 – 5.825 GHz (unobstructed, free of interference)
   FCC: 1.2 mi (2 km); CE: 0.18 mi (300 m)

If you have 1-13 Channels you are EC, if you have 1-11 Channels you are FCC mode. These are the 2.4GHz.

  I read also -

2.4GHz best for long distance as Wave is LONG WAVE (Long Distance Eg. Repeaters)
5.8GHz best for short distance as Wave is SHORT WAVE (Under 200m Range Eg. Indoor Wifi)

The other problem we have in EU is that 2.4GHz has a lot of traffic and the 5.8GHz is not supported a lot like in the US.

Technically I am not an expert, and sometimes these things make it a bit complicated for Beginners like me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The transmitter power is the same for both. Antennas and encoding make the difference.

  The specs say: Spark:

  Transmitter Power (EIRP)

  2.4 GHz
FCC: ≤26 dBm; CE: ≤18 dBm; SRCC: ≤18 dBm; MIC: ≤18 dBm

  5.8 GHz
FCC: ≤28 dBm; CE: ≤14 dBm; SRCC: ≤26 dBm; MIC: -

The dBm in CE is ridiculous !
The dBm between FCC and CE at 2.4GHz is 8dBm that makes a difference from EC - 500m to FCC - 2000m range.
The dBm between FCC and CE at 5.8GHz is 14dBm that makes a difference from EC - 300m to FCC -  2000m range.

I love doing range tests on all mine(P3P, Spark, and Platinum).  It's fun and nice to know the limitations.  Now I'm going far, and going down in for photos and vid to see how the connection does.  But seriously guys doing the long distance, You're typing that you can see the LITTLE spark at 2 miles!!  Sorry but I'm flying the big BS flag on that one!!  I have trouble believing a mile!  I don't have designated spotters but people with me loose it when I tell them to track it.

You must have been transmitting a strong signal to reach that kind of range, generally it's unusual.

so 5.8ghz is better than 2.4? for the spark? every time i try to go further than 2000 away or 1200 away it starts losing video connection and then returns to home :/

I usually fly in Auto mode and find 5.8GHz starts the initial connection and then depending on the range it will switch to 2.4GHz the longer you go.

For me 5.8GHz seems more reliable with better image transmission than 2.4GHz, but it all depends on your flying environment.

Thank you for some reason i tried today and i couldn't switch from 5.8 it only lets me use auto? which is weird im using ios. i dont need to take it further than that even just would be fun to go a little further before it panics and RTH's

Usually you can change the settings, try going to Image Transmission Settings and in Channel Mode click on Custom and select either 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz.

i have either auto or custom but when i hit custom it only will let me pick a channel to be on? i don’t get it i have a spark and today i was flying in sports mode thankfully low to the ground... had good gps expect i brought it to a stop to turn and it just stopped the motors.. and the led thing on the bottom fell off so i’m anxious about using it now when i went to my flight logs it doesn’t show the error message it said it just stopped recording it said aircraft has overturned or something and i can’t find it on google anywhere e
