Hey guys just recieved a set of these headlights in the post thought i would test them out and see how they perform.
They were purchased from wish.com.
Unfortunately its raining heavy atm but when it stops hopefully tonight i will do a short flight video for you guys to check out.
The lights themselves come well packaged cost about aus$30 has different brightness settings including flashing which i hope to show later in the video.
No im not trying to sell them i just thought you guys may be interested to see them working.

Well cant do a sunset flight for quite some time we have a colony of bats that have started flying over our house so wont be able to show in flight till i change locations.

Be sure and put them on low beam if you meet me,  I get blinded by hi beam.

Can we see a video from the ground of it flying at night? I'm really curious to how bright those things are.

I will do one as soon as i am able to.
Last night was bats tonight looks like rain.
I just seem to have the worst luck with this drone lol

No doesnt shorten flight time by much that im aware of yet except for the slight extra weight they have internal aaa batteries so no power drain on drone at all.
I think they weight in at about 20g

I think I like this idea better than the LED props I've been seeing.

They look ok, but are no comparison to the quality of my Lume Cubes and mounts.

Lume Cubes can be rotated with the adjustment wheel & they are movable.  
Turn them up, down, backwards, forward. Which ever angle you prefer.

They have 360* of turnability.

Yup, seen them on YouTube months ago.

I did a pretty good investigation into numerous LED variations.

And just loved the build quality of the Lume Cube best.
They are even waterproof to a pretty good depth...  I use them with my  Nikon D800 photography as well..
I have a mount I put together that holds them both, on a mini tripod.
Works great for fillin lighting or also wonderful when in slave flash mode. My regular Nikon speed light can trigger them.

When on the drone I prefer one of the seven strobe modes. I also have the magnetic Lighthouses with Red & Blue coloured filters over the LED's lenses at night.

The way Lume Cubes connect to their mounts is has 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the bottom and back for connecting to tripods, monopods, that has a wheel for tightening them at which ever angle you wish them to point, on that plain. They are not multi directional, like if they were mounted on a ball bearing. But they may be directed forward, backward of any angle on that 360* plain mount.

Thanks for the info rhp i think ill get some cubes even just to do a comparison.

In that video both flights whent upto the same altitude of aprox 120 mtrs

For comparison, they are not cheaply constructed.
But very well made and therefor rather pricey for a pair and the appropriate mounts, for which ever drone you wish to use them on.


I hope that you do acquire a set, and learn to appreciate them in numerous ways. Drone, DSLR, iPhone.

The pen lights also have a flash mode unfortunately its started raining again so couldnt show that mode.
And besides the scotch is tasting pretty damn good at the moment

Dont get me wrong im not trying to compete against lume cubes i just saw these on wish relatively cheap to buy easy to fit thought i would show you guys what they actually look like in flight.
Me personally anything that makes the drone easier to see night or day has gotta be worth $30.

In my time ive bought many accessories for drones just to test out some work and many dont those that dont i dont bother to mention but ive recently read a cple of threads about vlos distance and thought these might help some pilots as a cheap alternative to lume cubes.

Once those are in your grasp, and you feel their weight, you will know the difference.


Yes, they are well worth their weight in golden opportunities to Improve your photography lighting, but also strengthen your normal VLOS.
