If I am correct the free version does not allow for 4K editing. But I'll look it up.

Hard to find, but here it is.
The free version of DaVinci Resolve has all of the professional editing, legendary color correction and Fairlight audio tools you need for SD, HD and Ultra HD work at up to 60 frames per second. DaVinci Resolve Studio adds support for 4K and higher, along with frame rates up to 120 fps. It also includes dozens of additional image processing features and filters that are not in the free version. This includes film grain, temporal and spatial noise reduction, amazing new face enhancement tools, lens flares, lens distortion correction, optical quality blur and mist effects, match move, warping and much more!

So only the paid version allows for 4K editing.

I think exporting only works in 4K with the paid version, but downscaled 1080 will be possible.

Love this software. Just make sure you have at least 16GB ram and a good CPU / video card.

Yes, only Ultra HD on the free one.

I have the free version and I can load a 4k video and output it to 3840x2160 ultra hd. This is 4k according to Wikipedia.

4K (projection standard) is 4096 by 2160 pixels
UHD (TV standard) is 3840 by 2160 pixels

So they are different but unless you are mastering footage to be shown at a cinema then UHD/2160p is fine

would like to hear more from current users, especially its comparison to Premiere Pro in terms of usage, convenience, hardware requirements, using difficulties, etc. ???
