Good morning: I had the same problem yesterday with my M600 Pro and the Zenmuse X5R. We measured an entire project (approx. 1600 photos) from between 150 ft - 200 ft AGL, the DJI Go app was on Auto Focus (A) and each and every one of the images are blurry. I'm still trying to process and complete the project in Pix4D and it's been running all night...doesn't look good. So frustrating. So I'm assuming we will have to go back and re-fly it. I believe once the images are captured, that is all you have to work with. So to prevent this in the future, part of our pre-flight will be camera calibration, hover at flying height and trying to take some still images and tapping on the screen to focus,,,even though it's in Auto Focus mode. frustrating indeed.
The X5 does't have continuos auto focus, when in AF you need to constantly refocus as your distance from the subject changes by tapping at your target on the screen DO NOT expect the camera to do this by itself. As mentioned, sometimes best method is infinity focus calibration which at first for me was hit and miss at first, but finally it focused correctly so much so that when I switched cameras the calibration seems to have followed as the X5R infinity focus seems to be good. Anyway I feel that if you need tack sharp focus you have to adjust, so either tap tap tap on the screen or get a focus wheel in manual to make adjustments on the fly. |
