Hello,

I'm new to DJI...just received my Mavic Air and I'm having trouble with my phone/android fitting the controller.  I have a Otterbox on my iPhone 7 and I can tell that's not going to fit unless I take the case off.  I would like to use my Android Samsung Galaxy 4 but it appears too big.  Any suggestions out there people?  Thank you...

Thank you for the response...How on earth do you get it between the cotton picking phone holders?

I use a Note 5 with an otterbox on mine.  I didn't even try to fit it in.  I just pop it out of the case and clip it in the holder.  HOWEVER, from what I understand, the rubber grips on the inside of the arms are removable.  That would give you a bit more room in the thickness of the phone.  Might want to give that a try.

Good Luck.

(and yes, I know.. the Note 5 isn't on the approved list.  Haven't had a bit of problem in the past 9 months that wasn't attributed to a faulty USB cable)

Ok, you don't by chance have a picture of your galaxy 5 arrangement in the controller?  If I slide the galaxy 4 between the two side holders, they are only holding the top corners of the galaxy 4.  And, the short control cable does not reach nor fit...

Was a tight fit with my Samsung Note 8 (couldn't close the arms parallel and that made me uneasy) so I bought a refurb Note 3 off ebay, fits like it was made for it and works great. With that said I also bought a 10.1" Android tablet and a mount made for the Mavic controller by Skyreat. Couldn't be happier.

My original cable from DJI lasted about 2 months then died.  Used a regular USB to Mini cable for months then replaced it with one that I found at an office supply.  Found one that fits, about a foot long and works perfectly.  Google search for StarTech UUSBHAUB1LA 1ft Micro USB Cable, A to Left Angle Micro B.  As for the pictures... Pardon the fingerprints.  But like I said, I usually pop it out of the otterbox and once I get the app running, I push it a bit deeper in the holder.  Once I got it in, I can't get to the button.  I've got an old Note 3 with no sim card, but I hated dragging two of them around.  The Note 5 works perfectly.

As you can see, the short little cables aren't going to work...I have a long cable in it presently just to charge.

Ok, I can see you're using a Mavic Pro controller...believe it or not, the Mavic Air is slightly different...

Sorry, didn't notice until after posting. Didn't think the size was that much different.  My apologies

Hey Brad, I appreciate the response!  I watched a couple videos on using a samsung 8s I think...but it was on a Mavic Pro like yours...it appears that the outside arms swivel out farther and you can also get them to fit somewhat parallel to the device.

I believe if I can get a little longer cable that will fit my Samsung to the controller, I might be in business.  I can however test the drone with my iphone 7.  I was able to update the firmware on the drone so at least that part is done.  I also tried to scan the little scan icon on the drone with DJI Pro 4...it would not connect...when I go into my phone, the drone id never shows up...the drone yellow light is blinking...

I believe I just figured out the wi-fi mode by watching the tutorials.  You have to press the rear button for 4 seconds to get in wi-fi mode...sorry for my confusion...

Hi there, Mavic Air RC fits a mobile device within 6.5-8.5mm for thickness and 160mm for length. If the mobile device is larger or thicker than this specs, it might not fit for the RC.

Hello DJI Thor, appreciate the response!  My Samsung Tab 4 is about 7 3/8" so its a tad long.   I have ordered an adapter for my Samsung Tab so that should fix the problem.  Thank again!

Mavmount I think is the best out. Perfectly balanced. Not to mention very well-made.

I have a Galaxy S8+ and it fits mostly fine. I do have to remove the case. My major problem is that the bezel is so small on that phone that the mount obscures the edges of the screen a little so it is hard to press the onscreen buttons in DJI Go that show near the edges.
