Mavic Air -- Is it necessary to have an SD Card installed to fly and record video?

Can I record pics/video directly to the 8GB HD?

Yes, no need to put in a SD card unless your going to record more then the 8gb internal built in memory. The only downfall is when you need to pull the information off the card you need to connect a USB cable to the drone.

Hey, dji TO88 is right. Mavic Air equips 8GB internal memory, you can save the videos and photos on it.

the mavic air makes video then cut them to 3.5 gb and so on best thing to do is also insert a very good SD card i am using a sandisk 64GB extreme pro v30 u1
real good sdcard no problems all video's ar very smooth no itches or stutter

This is good news as my new Mavic Air is scheduled to arrive today but I have not yet purchased a suitable SD card.
