Hi Guys,

I'm urgently seeking a good mic to record content for the company. Have any of you tried to set up an external mic with the iPhone 8+ and Osmo Mobile 2? Wired or Wireless? Bluetooth even?

Hi J, unfortunately, we do not have external mic can be recommended for Osmo Mobile 2, hope other users could give you some advice.

Yes, I was hoping so as well.

I sync audio separately.  I mount the OM2 on a L bracket shape holder and attach the zoom h1 recorder with the Rode videomicro mic to the bracket, and sync the audio separately on post.  I'm not sure if there's a better solution but this setup works for me.

That sounds like a good setup.  How do you attach the Zoom H1 to the bracket?

I use a hot shoe 1/4"-20 thread screw.

Thanks for the response.  I looked at the Zoom H1 on B&H, and I did not see a way to use any connector.

Yeah those hot shoe screws are extremely versatile and you can attach pretty much anything that has a 1/4 thread.   

What L bracket are you using and where can I get one?
