When flying and the MA stops due to collision avoidance is it normal to have no left of right movement on the joystick?

And being my first drone should I be using The Follow or FPV option?
It’s always been on follow....

For your first question I am not sure and it might depend on the situation. Maybe you first have to fly a bit backwards. For your second question: If you want stable video you should set it on "Follow".

Thanks Wachtberger, it was on follow so will leave it there....

If the drone encounters an obstruction, it will stop and hover, the controller beeps, you need to release the sticks before you can give another movement command. The same will happen if you move to a point and the drone stops and hovers, even if you give up stick it will stay put. Once it stops and hovers you have to release the sticks.
