What are the minimum specs for flying the Mavic Air?

11 minimum (same for all drones with GPS), better more. You need at least 6 from either GPS or GLONASS. Thus to know that for sure there have to be at least 11 in total.

I always wait for 11 or 12 and obviously the home point to be set on the map before take off.

Actually, I suggest checking what the app status said. You can wait for a short while when the satellites have been collected and then start your flight. A little off topic, but please note that if there is no satellite and GPS signal has not shown up, the drone will be limited in height.

Hi there, the quantities of the satellites doesn't mean the quality of the GPS signal, you can check the signal bar on the app.

UAV Forecast has a feature that as well as showing the number of visible satellites, it also shows the number of estimated locked satellites. For instance, today there is a time when 14 are visible but only 11 locked. Might help.
