DJI forces drone pilots to pass safety test before lift-off in AustraliaI have done this quiz and consider it a great idea. It's more about information as you can keep guessing until the correct answer is reach. So you can't really get it wrong, it just makes sure you understand the rules in Australia. Maybe this is old News for other countries. Let me know and what's your opinion ?

I have also done this quiz and I think it's a good idea. It only takes a minute and it makes sure pilots know the rules in Australia, I have seen people use drones who are very irresponsible just because they aren't aware of the laws.

Sounds like a good move for public relations, and whats expected from skypilots. Don't have that rule here, yet! but it's very much location, laws, public safety. common sense flying...

Not sure Canada is over the rule drafting process. That's my guess.

I don't think most people intend to brake the rules, this kind of puts the rules in an obvious spot. So everyone will now know where they shouldn't be and when they're in the right.

I have seen it here in the US on my DJI Go 4 app about three times.  It comes up with a message to take the test...if you don't take the test after 4 times it's been offered then I think it says you'll be locked out or something.  I'm not sure what it said exactly but I took the test and passed...most anyone that has read the FAA drone requirements would pass it easily.

We have to do it in the UK. I think it is a great idea as it may prevent new flyers doing what they shouldn’t. That way hopefully they will fly safe and further restrictions on our great hobby will be prevented.

It was ridiculously easy - if you know the UK drone code you'll get 100% first time

I know the drone code by heard. Even if you wake me up in the middle of the night and ask me I will tell you correctly . I couldn’t recall the quiz (sign of getting old may be)

The US and UK users were the guinea pigs for it last year.

I have never seen the test.  I thought the test only triggered for those that fly beyond the range a human could see a drone, or fly over a city.

I would think the test is only on the latest App. So if you haven't seen the quiz, you are possibly on an older version.
One question on our quiz (the Australian quiz) I got wrong, because it was an all of the above answer and just selected the first one. Considering I have a commercial license, I would say the quiz is educational. The rules here have change quite a bits since I did my license exam.

Hopefully these gets the attention of the law makers so as not to create further new rules and requirements to further suppress the hobbyist  and recreational pilots in having just some weekend fun with the drone.

I doubt there are very many videos of the test educating drone owners.  The only videos out there for law makers to see are "10,000 foot range test" and aerial shots of cities, and people, far below the drone.

Oh, and we have the threads for them to see "My drone left my control and is flying freely across the nation's airspace."  Lost my drone and I don't know where it is now?
