Hello,

I stayed at this inexpensive beachfront spot in the Philippines, close to some beaches/sandbars, marine life, and falls. I’ve never really “featured” a location so any feedback to make my video better would be great! There are drone shots and Gopro clips on this one. Thanks for watching!

Lovely place to shoot a video.  I'd recommend that you cut out those scenes that are less than one second.  They're so fast that your viewers can't appreciate anything there, so perhaps they're not needed in your video?  I read a book on videography where the author recommended that you challenge yourself on every clip - "will my video suffer if I remove it?"  I shoot 10 -15 minutes of video for every 3 minute video that I publish.

Your Welcome - when your old & retired and the weathers too poor to fly, it keeps me occupied and I enjoy seeing what others do and learn from it.

Thanks for the tip! Most of the one-second clips are Gopro clips which weren't as stable as I thought. Even with EIS on and trying out some warp stabilizer in post, I could only get a very short duration of usable clip. The drone shots are just too stable that the unstable Gopro footage stand out even more. Thanks again for watching!

Nice footage.
Some parts were a bit jumpy for my likes, but that is personal of course.

For most of my Gopro footage, my shots weren't stable enough so a lot of them are pretty short cuts. But yeah, I could probably do with less cuts.
If only DJI released an Osmo 2 *cough cough*

Thanks for giving it a look!

I've been thinking of the S9+ and an Osmo Mobile 2. But, if an Osmo 2 comes out, I'll have spent money on something I won't use all the time. I'm so confused!

I've been thinking of the S9+ and an Osmo Mobile 2. But, if an Osmo 2 comes out, I'll have spent money on something I won't use all the time. I'm so confused!

I decided to go for the OM1.
(2 was not out back then).
I was very much in doubt weather I wanted a gimbal for my DSLR or one for a smaller camera.
But since I don't have stabilized lenses or body, I would also need to invest in a lens with VR (to compensate for the smaller jitter) and that was too much for me.
I don't own a decent compact camera and did not want to lug that around also.
So I figured: hey I have a decent camera in my pocket. Why not use that.
And the investment was not too big, so I thought I could try that and figure out if I need it often enough to invest in a bigger system one day.
So far, very pleased with the results. The iPhone SE makes great video.
And now, if I upgrade my phone, I can probably still use that with the Osmo Mobile.
So I'm very happy with how that choice turned out.

I was very much in doubt weather I wanted a gimbal for my DSLR or one for a smaller camera.

When I saw the Ronin-S being announced, I was thinking this'll be the best stabilizer for a DSLR/mirrorless. I definitely will have no budget for it, but I was dreaming of a relatively inexpensive 4k60 camera (good luck to me) to go with it and now I can make some awesome travel videos!

This week, I looked back at the Ronin-S reveals as well as the GH5S and I'm thinking, "How do I fit all of these if I travel light somewhere?" Shooting in my area won't be a problem as I can toss things in the car. As mobile as these two devices are, they're still not travel-friendly enough.

Now, I'm in this dilemma on what to get...
1. Osmo Mobile 2 + my phone would be nice, but I'd move my phone around to use for my drone too. And, if a new Osmo comes out, I won't be using it as much anymore.
2. Ronin-S + 4K mirrorless/dslr - still too expensive and too big, especially if you add the accessories that you need. It's ridiculous how big companies like Canon/Nikon seem so behind on tech that phone cameras have been doing for so many years. Sony is the only one pushing tech forward and pricing down. And, I'd need a better drone than a Mavic to match the higher quality footage from a 20 something megapixel camera.
3. GoPro + Stabilizer - the Gopro still won't be the most cinematic even when undoing the fisheye distortion. A stabilizer just for the Gopro is costly too and the 5 main ones out there aren't perfect, especially GoPro's which has the least features and costs as much as a new GoPro already. There's an Osmo Mobile 2 Gopro mount/hack so I can use my GoPro, but there are some issues with it that someone on Youtube shared.

I might be stuck in this problem for all of 2018 unless DJI or another company makes another Osmo.

Yes, very expensive and big that is.

I also wonder how I will combine both Osmo Mobile and piloting the drone.
I will find out when I re purchase a drone.
My guess now is that the Osmo Mobile will be used mainly when walking to places and at that moment I won't be flying the drone.
I bought a nice powerbank so I think I should be ok if I want to use my device for the drone later that day.
The only real drawback would be that I would probably like to make both drone shots AND motion timelapses in the same timeframe.
Then again, my iPhone SE is not really great for controlling the drone, since the screen is rather small and congested.
So I probably end up buying a 10"tablet or something, if there is enough reason to.

I guess a tablet would be ideal for you then. I'll be in limbo in the meantime, waiting for that 4k60 camera. I was hoping to do some wedding videos this summer but no tools for the job, or none that I can afford at least.
