I missed the proper snow as the wind was too high yesterday. Still looked good this morning above the Jubilee river. The frozen pond pictures were taken this afternoon. All the snow has disappeared, just ice.

Getting a bit too brave over water too.

Yes. I agree. Was rushing a bit as the battery was running low.

Nice pics. We have been lucky on Mull. The beast from the east did not reach us.

Thank you, to be honest, you wouldn't even know now. All the snow has gone and the rain has moved in.

Yes, was too cold to do any proper filming today. Just showing off a bit to much bravado. Only because the pond was frozen.

Good job some great shots, I read two people lost their drones 1x phantom 1x Mavic here in Ireland to the beast from the east, I gave that one a miss.

Amazing photos! but not so great with the video. Here is a tip: plan ahead of what path is going to be before shooting and be gentle with the yaw since the spark has a 2-axis gimbal only. Hope it helps

Thanks for the advice. I have shot video with the Spark. As per my earlier posts, I wasn’t planning any video today.
This is how is usually shoot with the Spark

Yes. Really wanted to fly yesterday, but way too risky.

Excellent video and thanks for sharing !!!! What beautiful scenery in it!!

Isn't it great when you have nice weather to just go out and fly for some time? I went out to fly last week with a very nice used Phantom 3 Advanced I picked up about a month ago.
Now, yesterday, we had a full scaled blizzard here on the east coast of the U.S. Horrible wind gusts, snow, trees down, airport and many rail closures. It was almost like a winter hurricane.

Here is the video I created with some nice footage I got last week.

Since I have retired, I really enjoy the flying and trying to create videos.

Holy crap that was good. How were the nerves over the water ?

When I first started flying drones, I began to practice with toy ones that flew in just atti mode and was really shaky and had my share of wrecks.....lol
So, when I first got a DJI, it was a Mavic Pro and was a total bundle of nerves and had a lot of freak out moments and hit the RTH button. So as time went on, I learned to have patience and basically common sense. I very rarely use RTH now and certainly like to fly the bird back using the sticks and figuring out orientation.
This forum is a great tool for me as I feel you never know everything and can constantly learn from the great people here, who are always willing to help you out.

As for this latest video, I just make all of my checks and calibrations before leaving and just go for it....lol. The water and the structures did not seem to be a problem and I had a good signal and telemetry the whole time. I find it pretty challenging trying to get some close shots at times but try and not to push it too far. I guess at those times, I am in the hands of the drone Gods.....lol

Hey, keep making your videos as you certainly live in a beautiful area of the world that offers some great opportunities for you.

Happy Flying !!!!!

Thank, thats some great feedback.

I think my biggest fear of flying over water, is if the drone crashes its gone, over land it will just need fixing.
