Hi, wondering if anyone can please help...
PROBLEM: Just completed a software update and for the first time ever my Phantom 4 is restricted to 96 feet height and 158 feet horizontal from takeoff point. Checked settings - all set to pre-update.

Aircraft: Version 02.00.0700
Remote Controller: Version 1.9.3
App: Version 3.0.0 (***Not the latest version***)

This is the first problem I have experienced with an otherwise faultless unit.


Can anyone please assist with a solution?

Logout of the app and log back in again

Be sure you did not fall back into beginners mode.

You say you are using a Phantom 4, and yet your App' is at version 3 ?

The older 'DJI Go' App' will not work with the P4, you need to use the 'DJI Go 4' App' (note: these are two different App's as seen in download store). This came into being not long after the P4P & P4A were released.

The controller can connect and control the aircraft, which is what you are seeing. To get rid of the 30m Altitude and 50m radial limits you are seeing using controller only, you will need to download and use DJI Go 4 (latest is V4.2.6), also you will need to log into your user account once in DJI Go 4 when your display device has an internet connection.

Once you have done this initial login to DJI Go 4 (via DJI Go 4 'settings' page) then it is not required again unless you chose to log out, or perhaps a future update may require a fresh login.
So using this 'logged in' version of DJI Go 4 you can now fly to the machines full capability, no internet nor cell data connection is needed.

Hi Ant, we recommend to download the latest DJI Go 4 for Phantom 4 to solve the restriction issue, since your APP is too old and the firmware is the latest version, which may cause the issue, please update at your most convenience.

Bingo! Thanks for the advise that has solved the problem.
Carried out the upgrade to the App Software and the Drone immediately flew to the prescribed limits.
