I invite you on a journey... a panoramic one with little big planets and an Astro shot with the Mavic Air.
As usual in this article, you'll find tips & tricks and useful information about the Mavic Air and its awesome functions.
I'm going to focus mainly on the 360 Sphere function of the Mavic Air, since the results are stunning wherever you take them.
All materials are shot at a single location in a radius of 500m.
First tip: I plan my shots/locations before arrival. When "in the air" be sure to look around because you might find some highly interesting spots.
This article focuses on mainly 360 panorama shots.
Battery and flight time:
I continue to repeat myself in every article that having a minimum of 2 batteries is a must. For now, I'm waiting for my second battery to arrive but till then I'm going to show you what can you do with one battery! As you can see the total flight distance is of 1795.3m in 17:06 minutes. I had 12% of battery life left at the moment of landing.During this flight, I managed to take 2x 360 Sphere panoramas 15 pictures, and 2 minutes of video.
Let me present you these stunning places with a Little Planet View. For now, DJI Forum does not have the function to view 360 panoramas.
I really would like to show you how they look like, so, for this reason, you'll find the 360 full sphere panoramas link below the pictures.
Tip: For those of you who need bigger sized panoramas than 32 megapixels, good guy DJI offers the possibility to save the individual pictures one by one.
Be sure to tick the "Save Unstitched Pano Photos".
This way you can use the images with the help of a third party panorama stitching software to get a higher resolution panorama. It's a good option if you would like to add a fake sky for example.

Take a look how much fun is to make an Astro shot!
Note: Regardless of your video settings when using ASTRO Shot mode you'll end up with Full-HD resolution!
Here are some edited shots, for you to make an idea about Mavic Airs photo quality.
Hope you like it! Stay tuned! More Mavic Air articles are on their way!
Hi Rudy! First of all thank you for your comment! The video in this thread is unedited, straight from the camera for all of you to make an idea about the quality.
For editing, I use Final Cut Pro X.

What a great and informative thread! Nice shots also!
after reading it I just tried my first attempt with the Astro mode.
Awesome! Nice to hear that my thread motivated you to try out Astro Shot! GREAT WORK!
How do you get the final sphere panorama off your phone/device? I tried a few different things and am yet to successfully get the spheres off the device to post or do anything with because I get an error message stating the image is larger the 20mb and cannot be shared.
If I may have a little point of criticism , (it's also on the mavic pro) there is still a lot off overexpose in the pano's.
DJI GO 4 app first photo is taken downwards, adjust the expose and locked before shooting further. When camera facing into the sun the photo becomes over-exposed
Now the job for the DJI engineers is to set the first photo horizontal (just like litchi do).
