I know the spec's say that a Google Nexus 7 II will work on a Phantom 3 , but is the " Google Nexus 7 II" and the "ASUS - 16GB Google Nexus 7 FHD Tablet (2013) " the same tablet. I am getting ready to purchase a tablet for my Phantom 3 and I want to get the right one. Thank you for your input & advise.

The 2013 model is the one that you want to go for, and they are almost the same price. Here are the important differences...

I think I agree with Cacc.  I just ordered the 2013, will have it tomorrow.  I'll let you know how it works.

Very curious how the Nexus 7 II works for you.  I just realized I had the old 2012 model, and will most likely need to upgrade or go with something else.

I used the Nexus 7 (2013) today and it worked fine.  Compared to my Galaxy S5 I lose the internet while in the field (my nexus does not have LTE), and when you switch between video and still or vice versa the redraw time is longer on the Nexus 7 compared to the S5 (like 1 sec vs 0 secs).  Other than that they were the same, didn't notice any lag or issues with the asus (google) nexus 7 2013

The tablet updates itself to android 5.0 then to android 5.1 on startup.  The DJI Pilot app was offered on the google play store, and i was able to update it to the latest version using the download link from DJI.

Thanks everyone. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab4 7", but even with a sunshade and antiglare screen on it I can't see S#!t . Yes let us know how it works in the sun phinchman. thanks for all your inputs.

How does the sun effect the screen of the Asus Nexus 7 (2013)?  can you see the screen in the sun? The tablet I have now I can't see the screen and I have a sunshade and antiglare screen, plus I have the brightness as High as it will go.
