I would not advise you to.
There is some precise pieces of engineering behind those plastic parts.
I would buy the hard case from DJI if I was you.
I think (hope) it will fit the OM2 also.

This is a very sturdy case for the OSMO +

Hi RegDawg, we do not suggest to throw the Omoo Mobile 2 into the backpack randomly since the motor could be damaged, currently, there is no carrying case for Osmo Mobile 2, please note the future release in our website.

Our engineers are working on that, we still have no idea if its own carrying case will be released and when. Sorry for that.
Ok.
Hope so.
I am planning on buying the OM1 version soon.
Looks like a nice way to carry it around (and safe too)

Yes, the carrying case is very portable and can perfectly hold the Osmo Mobile for safe during transportation, thanks for your interest.
If you do not have the device turned on, I don't see how any motors could be damaged. On my horse, I carry my Osmo Mobile in a soft saddle bag that fits over the horn of my saddle (with iPhone 8+ installed). I make sure to turn it off whenever I put it in, but it sits there nicely. I pull it in and out regularly, take shots, turn it off, and put it back. Here's a video I did a couple of days ago. I shot over 15 minutes of short clips to make this 2 minute final version. But my Osmo went in and out of the saddle pack probably 30 times during this ride.
