NEW HERE I HAVE THE DJI PHANTOM 4 DOES ANYBODY HAVING ISUES ABOUT MOTORS RUNING UP WHEN STARTING MOTORS .
WHEN I RECEIVED I DID WHAT I WAS SUPPOSE TO DO DOWN LOAD SOFTWARE AND FIRMWARE ON THE AIRCRAFT AND REMOTE CONTROL
WHEN I GET READY TO FLY I START UP MY MOTORS TO WARM THEM UP THEN PULL MY STICKS DOWN ONE AT 5 THEN THE OTHERONE AT 7 IT STARTS UP THEN THE MOTORS RUN UP THE AIRCRAFT TRYING TO LIFT OFF THE BACK DOWN THEN RUN UP TWO TIMES CAN SOMEONE HELP THX VATER
When you first start the motors the rpm serges then comes back down to the idle rpm. I just flip the switches down for a fraction of a second then let them return to the center position. The Quad should not budge from its position.
Welcome to the forum.
As already mentioned the motors will surge but should after a second or 2 reduce down to idle speed this is normal.
Unless you are flying in extreme cold there should be no need to warm anything up.
You can also take off using the app itself have you downloaded and read thoroughly the online manual?
If not please do it has a lot of info in it that novice pilots need to know
I guess the P4 does it for the same reason - to lock the quick release props into place if someone has left them only half on, either that or to make them fly off so you know there is a problem!

It's a simple safety measure that works. One way or the other. ;-)
I find what works positively every time is a simple preflight check list.
