Me too!

My best guess:
First there was not MPP icon, so that MP icon was added when he registered the MPP probably.
After that they added an icon for the MPP to this forum and forgot to delete the old.
But I'm not sure of course.

I haven't found a way to delete the Mavic Pro icon.
If there is a way, pass it on.  I will be glad to axe the icon.

If there is a way to add an icon, pass it on too.  Want to add my Mavic Pro 2.

I was considering the same thing, then considered the middle ground for less. The EVO if I'm allowed to mention a competitor here. DJI customer service scared me away.

A 1' sensor is far from being a DSLR sensor, not even a Micro 4/3 DSLR. 1" is used in small mirrorless cameras like the discontinued Nikon 1 so you are a little far from reality here...  a 1 inch sensor will be a step-up from the "cellphone" technology used today but no close to DSLR level by any means, let's be serious here.

You keep mentioning an increase in price for the Mavic Pro II like you have a personal interest in this... as a consumer I expect to pay just a little more for this upgrade. They are not reinventing the wheel by any means, the Mavic Pro was revolutionnary on its own right but a slight increase in battery life and a bigger sensor already utilized in another Dji product can really justify 2.000$? The Mavic Pro needs to be positioned between the Mavic Air and the Phantom series, not above it. If so, Dji will loose the core average 4K consumer and that's where the money is, volume. The Mavic Air is a fine little drone but I do not like the WiFi connectivity thing, still don't trust it.

A one foot sensor - wow! LOL In all seriousness we'll just have to wait and see but I think it'll be around £1300-£1500 for a base model if it is loaded up with P4P tech. Interesting times ahead.

MP2.  It’s going to have that new Sony sensor.

I own the spark it was my wife's birthday gift and I have the same dilemma MA or waiting for the MPII and I believe waiting is better although I'm sure that is not coming with a full sensor. Also I don't believe in the perfect drone it will have some missing features that will make some people going for the PH4 or further up. Many people think here that the holy grail is coming but it's a tough one for DJI I think, being in a position between portability and capability meaning that it could be not so portable and not so capable because leaks said that's going to be bigger than the MP but also that It won't have a 1 inch sensor.
Foldable, 1 inch sensor and 40+ min  of battery and ocusync and possibly within the price range of the MPP maybe just $100 more. I don't think it's going to happen this way.

Have you tried changing the channels before going up each time? 2.4 ghz or 5.8.... I had the same issue when I first started flying and since doing that have had no issues.

Mavic Air or wait for Mavic Pro 2?

Hold off until Mavic Pro 2 comes out.
Then hold off until Mavic Pro 2+ comes out.
Then hold off until Mavic Pro 3 is annouced.
Then hold off until Mavic Uber is leaked...

There will always be something better.  
Unless it is something you really really like.  Then it will be discontiuned, and all consumables disappear.

Just get the mavic pro now. You might get killed by a bus tomorrow

I would choose the PRO2 or any MA2 if will be produced..

What tool is needed in the toolbox and why? You can reclaim dollars by parting with what you have. If you want to try out the Mavic Air, go for it. You will lose about $150 - 200 on the resale in 6 months time. Is the rent worth it? I have my eye out for the Mavic Pro 2, I will sell what I have and take the loss...pending image quality, portability, streaming quality at distance. Those are my top three criteria and the Air is not meeting the "distance" criteria. I'm not talking the need to fly for miles, I just need excellent connectivity within 1 mile and the Air is failing me at 1/2 mile out.

Wow! I like the wifi on my spark but I ONLY use that one for quick selfies. I wouldn't trade the connectivity on my platinum though. I LOVE how stable that is.

i wouldnt get either and buy a phantom 4 pro! you already have a portable drone, might as well get a bigger drone! unless your planing on selling the platinum, then i would wait for the mavic pro 2.

If you’ve got a Plat Pro in my opinion the Pros are a better piece of kit. Swings and roundabouts but on the balance of permanent, features and cost, Pro. Air is great but not enough to dethrone a Pro.

The P4P was one big step ahead of the Mavic Pro with its camera. Looks like all that has changed now (soon, very soon

And the Air might have been a backstop (soon to be door-stop ? ;-) ), DJIs answer to Anafi.
