I finally found the "Free"  setting for hyperlapse in the time duration box making the feature much more useful.

Thanks! I didn't do anything to stabilize this video. I think hyperlapse is better at masking the movements you normally see in real-time gimbal shots. Also, I was walking very slowly for the hyperlapse so details could be recognized in the video.
