I just make it to 3800 meters, thats more than i expected, still got good signal but i went nerveus to fligh so far, it olso have to come back you know? battery ad 55% and going in the red because the disdance is further than battery can deliver for the way back, so did it once just to see how far it can go, but not to recomended...

Is it possible to overcome the max altitude of 500 meters? by chancing the software settings or is this something what is not possible by software chancing?

Hi, Jim. There may be many interference such as WIFI  in populated areas. If you want to fly father, you should do as follows: 1) Make two antennas of RC parallel to each other and wide sides toward the drones; 2) Select a place with less interference; 3)Select a channel with low interference strength; 4) Make the drone line of sight.

With windsurfer home made antenna,s i made it till 4300 meters without losing signal strengt, this is fine for me not trying to go further..

4.8 kilometers with the windsurfer. I'm wasn't sure if the person who started this thread wanted to know max distance stock only or not

The aircraft must be kept within the visual line of sight (normally taken to be within 500 m horizontally and 400 ft vertically) of its remote pilot (i.e. the ‘person in charge’ of it). Operations beyond these distances must be approved by the CAA (the basic premise being for the operator to prove that he/she can do this safely).

4.1 Km out I got chicken and turned back. Completly stock P3P + iPad Mini 2 Cel.
Clear day, no obstacles from top of a hill.
Had full bars on both RC and Video signal. Could have gone way further, will try on a less windy day.
Edit: If I fly from the backyard surrounded by trees and whatnot, I get 2.8-3.2 Km at 120-200 meters up.

I would also really like to know, where on the remote it says CE or FCC. Or if its an automated process done via the GPS location.
I live in EU, but find the range amazing.

I flew 1.2 miles. And that was with a non-light bridge phantom 3 standard

4040 meters... got chicken and decided to come back as wind started blowing... of course in the wrong direction.

How are you getting this kind of range???  I've gotten to 1900 feet (not meters) and I start getting the "weak remote signal" warnings...4 KM??  that's AMAZING!!

first one isnt a phantom3

Standing on a hill by the Atlantic Ocean, I was able to fly a P3 standard 1.8 Km into the water.  At this distance, I had to adjust the orientation of the RC to maintain connection with the drone.   I might be able to push it a bit further, but the GO app shows that the battery is low so I called it back.

I am the NA Forum Support Manager.  I post here and in other forums.  DJI-Dave is one of my direct reports.  I was a little silent last week because I spent most of my time in Meetings at DJI's Shenzhen Head Quarters.  I toured R&D and met the team leads for our products.  The goal was to improve communication between forum support and HQ.  The better to serve our users on the forums.  I typically average over 300 posts on DJI's Forum and yes I am also the Super Mod on this forum.

I'm getting around 3400m with parabolics on?? Does this sound about correct

I got 3 miles with my DBSmods kit installed. Could have gone farther but battery was the limiting factor. Also, a fun little app crash at 3 miles out that made me wet myself.

I got a windsurfer and tested it out...8000 ft out with fluid video and good signal strength...

I was able to go 3km from Halton Hills

In the desert, I got 9900 feet before I chickened out.  Stock unit; full connection the entire time.

I got my P3P out to 15,000 feet (just under 3 miles) one way on the Central Oregon Coast... paralleling the beach.  Still had solid signal all around... could have pressed further but didn't.  Plan to post the video soon as I can process it ;-)  Oh... and factory settings... no antennae enhancement of any kind

I'm not able to reply to the poll as I've never even made it to alternative 1... Max distance for me so far is 380m (alt 42m) with my P3 Advanced.
I actually had better range on my P2 V+. Made it to 550m with that one.

Usually it drops connection on both RC and video at about 280-300m.

It's purchased in the US, but used in Norway. Has been to DJI Europe due to the rangeproblem, but it didn't improve.

Just bought a P3a, finally made it to 2553m at stock mode after a couple of trial, then the rth kicks in sadly. average distance is around 1200ish meter each flight though..... so yeah. (in Malaysia btw, semi urban area with hilly terrain, altitude 120m)

i take you mean one way? I get close to 4km but just cant quite push it there. Loose signal and she comes home ;)

Two weeks ago I done 6,343 Metres stock battery with DBS Mods so nervous coming back. lol

I made a test, some days ago. The goal where to reach 2,5 kilometers. If I would reach 2,5 kilometers, I would turn home no matter what.
Well it did reach 2,5 kilometers with ease and only lost one reception bar on my screen. Wi-fi channel was set to auto.

iv been a little over 2 miles with my ant mod, stopped at that got worried

I think about 6200 ft is the furthest I have gone out before losing video signal
