When flying my Mavic Pro on a sunny day it is very difficult to see my monitor (ipand mini). So the question is: has anyone tried to fly from inside a room and if so, how much signal loss occured? I know this is not the smartest thing to do, but the thought occured to me anyway.
I don’t know what happened to the text on my last post? My hood is a flat rate box from the post office, I taped the flaps to form a slot at the top. Cut a slot in the side near the bottom, to slide my iPad in. Put a string on it to hang around my neck, look down into the slot perfect view. Use the 3 foot cord to the RC works excellent.
Here are my 50 cents I always look for some shade, if there no one, I use a foldable umbrella to shade my iPad and at the end lately, I fly from inside the car seating in the driver seat or in open trunk (kombi/jeep) where open door provides shade
Hope it helps
P.S.
I also found that photo solar glasses I wear are a Big problem - they go really dark in a sunny day while pupils are contracted due to diffuse light and I see nothing on the screen - So I purchased No photo solar glasses
It would be a fools errand to try flying while controlling your drone indoors and I include a car in that, get a hood they have really neat ones on dji.com cost very little or you could purchase a Crystalsky but that will set you back.
Check this out, I use it for winter weather, stops the wind, I haven’t seen any signal loss. Helps with the sun and folds like the landing pad. And only $23.00
