Hello - as others have posted here:

my Mavic Air fell out of the sky from 140 feet on the first day of flying it.

Here is the pretty boring flight record when it appeared to hover  and  fall from 140 feet (there was no controlled ascent/emergency landing  even after initiating an emergency RTH and losing connection):

The good new is that probably will take it as warranty.... the bad news is that probably they will change only all the plastics that took the hits.. and btw i think your battery is defective and sent it with your drone to dji.

Hiya,

Sorry to hear about your loss, thought that the MA was more stable than a Spark.

From where did you read those errrors, did not see them in the flight log.
Can you read DAT files?

cheers
JJB

I do notice you were in sport mode.
Not that that should be a cause.
But it might be a cause.

Nothing much in your log looks like some sort of failure, the geo B airspace is a bit concerning and haven’t seen the prop guard warning before.
I think it will be one for dji to sort out.

Hiya,

Sorry to hear about your loss, thought that the MA was more stable than a Spark.

The error snippets were extracted from the drone flight data file using several online tools (DatCon primarily). I have also posted a link to my full .DAT file I pulled from the MA. I am concerned this may have been caused by a bad battery but when I opened a ticket and sent it in, I did not send the battery so may need to open another ticket for that battery.

So far experience has been pleasant enough with the ticket I opened. What do you think could indicate that the battery is bad (other than the fact it dropped midair)?

Hi - yes, a ticket was created and my Mavic Air is supposed to be analyzed. I did get a message that the data analysis was "inconclusive" so not sure if there was missing flight data or not enough data to make a determination?

Here is the ticket ID: CAS-1533234-Y7X0F9. I have never had a DJI product drop out of the sky like this and I am concerned it could happen again if the battery I have is bad.

Thank you.

This is just my opinion!

From looking at the flight route it does look like the battery just died .Loss all telemetry and power at that instance and it fell to the ground.

Did you ever notice if the battery was never quite solid in the drone?

Hoping you get it resolved so you can get back to flying.

I wish I knew if the battery was the problem - I have 3, is there a way to identify what battery was used during this flight? All batteries charge without issue and this was the first day I flew it.

I can answer that question because i have found that if the battery is not correctly locked into position via the tabs and the red is showing ,
It tells you in the app with a warning  that it is not locked into position  and therefore will not let you take off although i haven't tried if it will take off but it does inform you to make sure it is in properly

regarding your battery: if damage to the battery is not visibly obvious then you can
A. check it by tactile investigation ie; feeling the surfaces to ensure there are no unusual bumps or minor swelling on the surfaces and feeling to ensure the battery temperature is not unusually high
B. keep an eye out for if you receive any battery error notices on the app.
It helps if you mark the batteries (mine are numbered 1 -4)
I first noticed an issue with my one battery because it unusually hot. With my hands i did not feel any swelling and with my eyes i did not notice any issues but when i rubbed it over my lips i felt that the bottom surface was not as smooth as my other batteries - indicating a swelling cell.
I kept an eye on the battery and shortly after received a battery error warning - that was the last time i used the battery.
It was sent back within 6 months from purchase and replaced without question.

Hi,

I have the same problem. Did you find a solution and a reason of the problem?
