Hey Everyone!

Well, we finally got a break from old man winter (coldest February in 25 years) so I jumped at the opportunity afforded by some warm weather and headed out towards the mountains with my dog Molly and my DJI Spark. I put together a compilation of the morning of shooting.

Filmed about 45 minutes west of Calgary, Alberta Canada.

4 or 5 is ideal for the Spark if you want more than an hour of flight time without touching a charger.

I definitely feel one or two more batteries are in my future. I did a bit of poking around and there doesn't seem to be an effective way to charge them quickly in the field. DJI's own portable charging station takes 2.5 hours to charge three - too long for me. Spare batteries are looking to be the most efficient and cost effective solution. :-)

I charge three batteries in the field in under 55 minutes using the Smatree SP90 from Amazon...make sure you get the upgraded model. After the first three, it still has enough juice for three more.  All starting at 10%  or lower.

Thanks for the info! 55 minutes is good but still too long for me. I decided to go with a couple more batteries, which worked out a bit cheaper. :-)

Yeah...I have four batteries so as soon as one is depleted, I pop it on the Smatree and continue flying and putting batteries on the charger...by the time I finish my fourth flight, the first battery is just about charged.  If I take any time between flights like going to a new location, the first battery is always charged.

Someday I must visit Red Deer / Calgary / Vancouver ! Its my Wish ! Have my wife's family in Canada but they live in Ontario. Really Beautiful Footage ! I Love the Nature there.

Look into a charger on Amazon by Smatree. it is able to charge 6 batteries on the go. It is able to charge three batteries simultaneously in 40 minutes. the charger itself is portable and will completely charge in 4 hours. but it's $130 or so. let me know what you think

Wow, must be expensive. I got my spark a few weeks but it ran itself into a building. But, Dji offered me a 100% discount and the Spark is on its way. 3 batteries. Kudos to DJI lol, anyway

Spark batteries are around $60CDN, so yeah, $240+ in batteries (got two in my "fly more combo"). Totally worth it though. When I'm out on hikes and bike rides I want as much flight time as possible.

Good on DJI for replacing the drone! Happy flying and safe landings. :-)

I did look at those chargers. I like them but it wasn't portable enough nor does it charge fast enough to be a solution to take on hikes and bike rides. Five batteries was the cheaper solution for me and the type of shooting I like to do. :-)

I like the DJI charging base... holds the spark and 2 extra batts..

have enough juice to recharge those 3 batts in the field.. the whole thing is small enough just barely bigger than the spark.. in its carry case, it can hold the remote too.. and charge it and/or your phone with the USB out ...

pretty slick...
