No-one is forcing you to buy it mate - it costs what it costs.
If you can find a better price elsewhere then go for it - but whinging about the situation won't get you anywhere.
We all pay more for all tech and digital media compared to other countries - been that way for years and won't change anytime soon.

First of all, with the exchange rate and removing the GST*  the US equivalent is USD$3,197 so only about 10% more than the US price.   To me that's not an unreasonable markup given the distance and extremely small population.

Also, the AUD exchange rate was around USD .87¢ in November when they were working out the initial pricing.  It's now 10% worse.

*(Sales Tax is NOT included in US pricing but most States will add between 8%-11% ON TOP of the listed price so always calculate EX GST not INC)

For some countries, like us in France. The original prices did not take into account the next tax, that our government was preparing, due on every flying machine including a camera...
After one week or two, prices went up by 300eur.

We also had price increases in the UK but this was not a reflection on tax or any statutory requirement it was DJI forcing dealers to increase prices.   There was no valid reason for the price increase in the UK and whilst some dealers were selling things such as batteries at the old prices, they were informed quickly by DJI to increase their prices in line with other dealers.

In my opinion this is DJI inflating demand by reducing supply then putting up prices.  Basic economics to achieve maximum returns at expense of customer.
