Hi Experts I have resintalled DJI Assitant 2 because the simulator wasn't availble for some reason. After the new install, when I plug the Mavic Air, it is recognized as a Mavic Pro, which I guess it is a problem if a firrmware updated is needed.
I am running v1.1.2-2


What could be wrong?

That is a strange problem. I suggest doing a refresh of the firmware as it should identify the correct firmware for the product.

Thanks for the reply! Do you mean using DJI Assistant to reload the firmware in the Mavic Air? Wouldn't I end up with the Mavic Pro firmware in my Mavic Air?

First uninstall what you have now and then install the latest version which is v1.2.2.827: https://www.dji.com/mavic-air/info#downloads
This should work, at least it does for me and most others.

The latest version is V 1.2.2.845 as far as I know.

Sincere apologies, you are absolutely right! I had copied the version number from the German DJI website which seems to lag behind. But the link provided in my post was the correct one to the English website.

The new version works perfectly now... Thanks!!

NP, If the OP is running V 1.2.2 that version I believe does not support the MA

Maybe just reflects it as a Mavic?

All I can report is that I have version 1.2.2.845 and it correctly recognises my MA. Windows 10/64 here.

I updated my Assistant to 1.2.2.845 and seems to work well for both Mavic Air and P4P+

I did the same thing - downloaded the wrong version, and had my Air showing as a Pro. All sorted once i downloaded the correct version.

So, if you want the link to the most recent version of Assistant 2, it's a safe bet that you will find it on the download page of the model with the most recently released firmware updates. DJI really need to make the effort to fix links on Every page when a new Assistant becomes available.

They don't even have the product operating manuals on all pages and products. For instance, they have a sort of Spanish page but on Mavic Air downloads page, the manual link does not appear, not even in English. With the system detecting the location of the accessing computer, via IP and automatically selecting the webpage language, is quite difficult for a Spanish user or owner to get an "any language" version of the manual...

Interesting, I haven't checked that for a while. I use a VPN, so while I'm actually in Australia, IP analysis may determine I'm in Japan (that time). And I definitely don't want to see the Japanese version of the manual...
