Try to find a Multirotor club around you. While you are doing that, you should be doing 2 things:
1. Reading the manual (more than once, but don't expect to absorb it all at once. Just read it a few times, and get exposed to it). I have 3 copies printed, living room, bedroom niight stand, and "The Library".....
2. Also, watch all the you tube vids you can on beginner flights.
3. Learn/Fly it out of the box. I would not do any updating to it just yet. (my personal opinion). Just load the DJI assistant to your PC, and get your bird registered, and care/refresh if you choose to do so.
Load the DJI Go4 app on your Tabby or cell, and find a good wide open field to practice at...
Don't really worry about the camera just yet, you want to be able to learn the control(s). BUT, you do want to take a few well focused images, and some vids at different resolutions to check the camera for functionality in the next couple of weeks.
Forgot, since this is your first quad/drone, may I suggest that you get a small little "toy" grade type of quad to practice with. These usually do not have GPS, and these fly in predominatly ATTI mode. You will need to be able to fly in ATTI mode if/when you lose the GPS. There are 3 flight modes: GPS: Rock solid....ATTI: the aircraft only self levels, it will drift with the wind, and Manual mode: Don't even want think about that one just yet...
You might look at the little "Estes Proto X for indoor practice when it's rainy/windy outside, won't hurt the big screen if it crashes. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Estes-Pro ... words=estes+proto-x
For outdoor practice : https://www.amazon.com/Dromida-U ... words=dromida+drone
Any questions you can figure out yourself, well, we are here..... |
