The OP was requesting for a link to a specific version v1.4.0.70 FW for his Inspire 1 Pro.

Your provided link could only lead him to the current version v1.11.1.50 FW, not the version he requested for.

And below is the latest Inspire 1 Pro Release Notes which summarized the release notes of all FW versions. Please refer to page 5 and page 6 in particular.

Please note:-

1) The matching RC FW v1.5.8 is required to correctly decode Aircraft FW v1.4.0.70 without encription. The matching RC FW v1.6.0 is required to correctly decode Aircraft FW v1.8.1.00 with encription. iOS DJI GO version 2.7.1 or Android version 2.7.2 is required to work with these versions of FW.

2) Always update your Aircraft first with your RC being switched-off, otherwise your Aircraft will be stucked in Travel mode or Landing mode. After having completely and successfully upgraded your Aircraft FW, restart and then switch off your Aircraft, and proceed with upgrading your RC.

3) Never upgrade your Aircraft FW with your RC switched-on. You will fire the video encorder module and the video downlink module in your Inspire 1 Pro if you upgrade your Aircraft FW with your RC switched-on.

How do you downgrade app version? And does 1.5.8 radio still work with 1.6 aircraft today?

The go app is not easily downgraded unless you have a copy of it on I tunes. go to you tube and if you are good at computers you will find directions there, I have never done it personally.

There are ways with instructions on how one can download and install previous versions of DJI GO App. Please refer to below links.

I haven't tried downgrading DJI GO so I am not able to comment on whether these work or not.

About your second question, I had been flying my Inspire 1 Pro with the then current Aircraft FW v1.4.0.70 (was actually AC FW v1.6.00.40 plus X5 Camera FW v1.4.0.70) using the RC with also the then current FW v1.5.8 for a month from FW release on 7 Mar 2016 till 7 Apr 2016 when the then new FWs were released by DJI. There was no problem back then.

Hi Henry,

2 things to add for consideration based on my experiences.

1)  First, if you are a Mac user, reversing the iOS can be somewhat easier. However, for the PC user it is a PITA
2)  Your second link above is the best instructions for reverting back the Go App for iOS devices. This method takes some computer experience but most people can follow the Youtube video to get through the process.
Apple encrypts your ID when you purchase or download Apps on your mobile device (each device has a unique encrypted code, iPhone or iPad by type) They cannot be used for anyone else's device unless you jailbreak the device.

Apple recently removed the ability to manage your Apps from iTunes and this is why the method requires using a old version of iTunes ((  iTunes 12.3.1 ))
