Hi all got my P3A back from repair service with a new camera and gimbal the screw off cover is impossible to remove to fit an nd filter, tried the elastic band thing but still no joy, any suggestions

Was thinking would I little drop of penetrating oil do any harm

I wouldnt use any form of oil on it as it will possibly stain the outer surface.

You could try one of these its a rubber hose adapter.
Hold and brace the camera firmly then push the adapter against the lens and turn using only just enough force to do the job.

The trick is to grip the lens with the lightest of touch , the lens ring is very thin and distorts easily with pressure locking the fine thread even tighter  .
You may even find warming the lens bezel with your hand for a couple of minutes will help .

There was a trick using a piece of string, tied around the thin threaded end.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think you can try, but please note to be cautious, don't break the lens cover.  

I bought one of these recently and find it unscrews the lens easily

Hi Dale 68, I had one of those sun shades in my drone case and it worked a treat thanks for you help, Hellsgate I must give a shout out to you for your suggestion, I would have tried your tool the hose connection but hadn’t one at hand, thanks to everyone that helped me with this issue, may you all have a great day

Good result where did you get the lens shade ? i could use one of them myself  , summers on the way .... hopefully ?

DEUCEDOG I bought treble pack of assorted attachments on amazon here’s the link, I have never used the lens sun shade, this is budget stuff so can’t tell you how it performs, only used the shade to get the lens cover off to put nd filter on https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anbee-P ... opter/dp/B015FI7ND8
