I'm hoping someone can help me understand more about how CDNG RAW is "debayered" before it is viewed on the monitor. When shooting RAW, some type of gamma curve is being applied so we can see a decent image in our monitors. How does this work and is it selectable during production (change color profile or apply a custom LUT)? Similarly, when I bring my footage into Resolve, it appears the default "color space" is sRGB. Is this the gamma curve being applied in our monitors during filming, or is this just a preset in Resolve that is being used to apply a gamma curve as a starting point to the grading process?
Thanks in advance.
