I just got my Inspire1...

Took it out for a flight in Breckenridge, everytbing was fine...

Second flight later after only 9 minutes trying to get sunset, the battery dropped to 40% then 0% within seconds. It said returning home, but never showed... it was right over 400 ft high, but when I showed up to the last location of the aircraft, it wasnt there.

Any ideas or tips?

It sounds like you took off with less than 100% battery. Upload your flight data to Airdata and share a link to it here.

Is it Breckenridge in Switzerland? If it is, an odd thing happened to me as well a long time ago with the Inspire 2. I completely lost connection. At some point I hit the return home button and after 5 minutes it came back, but it never reconnected to the remote. I had to land it visually. I thought it was gone for good. Maybe it's something in the area that targets drones. there are lots of military ops in the area. Who knows.

Hey all!

I'm actually in Breckenridge, Colorado at the moment... but update... I found the drone!

I definitely was flying with a fully charged battery, but, the cold shot it down to a 9 minute flight. It was later during golden hour, so the chill is probably what caused the issues.

I found it in a field about 60 yards passed where the final recorded location was on the RC.

I just had limited time last night to look with the fading sun, so I ended up reviewing the flight log and watching the speed of decent and angle in which I was flying to determine which direction to look passed the final reading by the RC.

That's crazy about the Breckenridge, Switzerland experience!

Glad to hear you found it. That had to make you feel good. I have flown my MP in whether that was 5° have never had an issue with that but then again it’s not the inspire. Something tells me the inspire does not like cold weather.

The Inspire 1 batteries are 'sensitive' to cold weather.
If flying in cold weather be sure to:
- pre heat the batteries (with the TBxx battery heater)
- use the insulation stickers on the batteries while flying
- check the individual cell voltages, not only the battery % in GO app

Cold temps have nothing to do with this crash, 9 minutes flight would have warmed them up enough.

He took off with less than 100% battery.

Oh. Well that's interesting because it was only 5c in colorado? And it was 9 minutes after.

There are inspire 1s that fly in russia at negative 10-20c, even with battery heater, when it starts flying its gonna get colder  too.
