I had a hard time with this until I turned on the motors.  It then reported "HOME NOW SET"

I had to start the motors before it would acknowledge a "HOME POINT".

I have to agree, the manual is confusing in its language on what they are referring to exactly about the 20M.   It could be interpreted with regards to height.
20M is approx 60 feet.

Why would anyone want to press RTH when so close to the home point, is beyond this drone pilots comprehension. Haha
To set the home point, you turn on the drone, and wait for a proper satalite count...

One of these days  your mom or grandmother will buy a drone....maybe
And....what if she had a problem with it ???   What if they joined this forum ???
Would you talk to your grandmother like you attacked this kid ??
I remember my mom always saying " if you cant say something nice to someone RTFM"  NOT

About 20 m. In my opinion...

Imagine you have a nice empty area in front and sides of you and a BIG tree or building at your back (more than 20 m)...

If the bird comes from your back it could need at least 20m of altitude or it could crash way back home. The accuracy of horizontal landing is irrelevant (1 to 5 m +/-). Anyway, I think one can adjust it via software.

Hugs.

It has nothing to do with height. It could be flying at 100 Metres altitude, but as long as it is no further than 20 Metres from you horizontally, it will land where it is. And no, you cannot adjust it in the settings.

Maybe we are talking about different stuff... If this is the case, I apologize!!

Here you can find how to set RTH altitude: HOW TO SET RTH ALTITUDE

And here interesting information about it: RTH at current altitude confusion

Thanks and Hugs!

Don't activate RTH within 20m of the homepoint... The HP sets itself after start up - just wait for the sats to be received - 12 will be good to go.
