Just got the Crystalsky hood for the CS 5.5
It fits well and it's press on to install, more importantly it's light and not to thick in form factor. Opening is spring loaded

Still easy to use the touch screen

Not sure whether you would need a hood for the UB given it's so bright already

Your remote is hardcore!  Does the hood get in the way of you operating though?

No, the hood doesn't get in the way as the mount holds the CS and hood below the the controller.
Even with the MP or MPP controller it doesn't block the controller screen

Your fingers support under the controller and the palms rest on the side of the hood, naturally allowing the thumbs to reach the control sticks

Yes, they are expensive, they should be around 10-20 usd for the larger hood maybe even less

True.  But it would make a very convient Screen protector.  At 999 buckaroos, it is not a screen you want scratched or dinged up.

Not the cheapest screen protector I can think of

Sure like your foldable screen protector,  but I think DJI are a little too proud of their 7.85 model.  Not going to pay $85.00 for that.

Do you have a link to the foldable hood, for price and availability?

Yeah...that's too bad.  Another customer here that would probably buy something like that, but wow...$85 for a hood?  Particular since the version for the small CS is only $40  That's more than double the price of the smaller size.

Cheers...

P.S.  I heard Wachtberger talking about them maybe coming out with the correct mounting bracket for the Mavic Air, but I've already purchased the replacement arms (waiting for delivery) so I can use my old bracket; for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

My mistake Todd,  I assumed the price was $75.00 + $10.00 for shipping.   Its $79.00 + 10.00 for shipping, soooo...........about $90.00.

Lannes...

Is it made of metal?  Plastic?  Or a combo of the two.

Thx...

The only metal bits are some springs

Wow....so $80 for a plastic hood!!???

I really want one but geez.....

Like I said, the price for the larger version does not seem to be in line with the price of the smaller one.

Cheers...

After reading yet another post about CrystalSky overheating when air temperature is well below normal operating range, and suggestion of using DJI's folding sun-shade.
Adding on all problems with CrystalSky screens going blank or dying.

DJI should be sending these to every CrystalSky owner for FREE.

I would be happy for at getting the larger hood for $50, but $80 for a plastic hood?

Cheers...
